Let's make this a place to discuss all things technical, weather, and incidental.

Probably not. I'm thinking more of proper rigging (gear placements), learning how to read weather maps, topo map deciphering, just a resource for us to contribute to.

Safety is no accident...

Not all safety is good safety....
I would rather see a place to buy and sell gear.

My safety meetings may be a little skunky.

Such is life. However, I really respect those who help keep others safe.

So, let's talk about it.

My last safety meeting was a 'train wreck', if that means anything to y'all.

This one time, on Eagle Lake Buttress, I was on the summit when a thunderstorm rolled in at about forty miles per hour. I acted like a winch and brought my partner up, we both started to buzz and glow and we bailed in record time.

We could have easily have been blasted by mother nature, but we escaped that day.

Since then, I've had a HUGE respect for the capricious nature of...nature.

Hence the desire to discuss all things weather and such.

OK, Can anyone explain to me how to interpret NOAA radar readings on the internet with more accuracy than I can?

WEAR YOUR HELMET!!!!!!!

Not just w/ climbing, but ALWAYS when cycling...I know it steals the freedom of the wind in your hair-believe me I grew up on murdercycles, but
me & Kelly coded a young man who went down pretty easy w/out a helmet....they cut him up for organs 4 hours after the crash.

That's my be safe for this thread.
I apologize if I seem blunt, but it is VERY SAD to see a life wiped out by a simple mistake.

The whole idea of standing up in a bathtub may be a big mistake. Am I right?

I surround myself in scented bubble wrap every morning after my shower.

I feel fresh and safe all day long.

Then I dance - it's a safety dance.

You can laugh if you want to...

Pointless if there is not an easy to navigate database. Unless of course we all just want to spew on the last 5-9 posts that we disagree with, or worse yet drool over the posts of the icons we have here. No disrespect to aformentioned icons.

Great concept though, as there is some awsome advice every now and then.

Oh, I thought you were requesting a new tab....sorry...

Always check your partners Setup! I recently climbed with a guy who climbs pretty badass alpine but forgets to tie into his rope on the rock..."ah..dude, you should come back down and tie in, otherwise this belay device I have the rope threaded through is useless"....
