Thanks Steve,
I've spent about 60 days on that glacier, trying to get up some of the undone lines. I can appreciate all the attempts it took for the east face to happen. Jim got me psyched on going there. That article is a pretty nice piece of history. Crossing those snowy slabs up there is mind bending sh#t.

It is mind-blowing to think of going up and down that with no bolt kit. Even if they planned to rap down on slung horns- how many treeless lines even in Yosemite would you look at and think "yeah slings over horns will get us down." How many slings would they need to not run out of gear?
Pretty un-F-ing believable.
