I had forgotten about Ramuta's. He does a great job! My buddy Todd (who works at Feathered Friends) worked with him occasionally.

I'll throw in a plug for Rubber Room also. I've had a number of pairs done, their work is superb and they are a pleasure to work with. They are ALMOST as good as Jules (sp.?) who I used to use, I think the name was Red Rock Resoles. She was tragically killed in a motorcycle accident; just wanted to point out that she was the goddess of resoles. Her work was perfect; an art form...plus she put a Jolly Rancher in each shoe!
Serious, though...I've miss Jules dearly, but Rubber Room has been fantastic.

I've used Dave Page, Locker, and the Rubber Room over the years. No complaints from any and fine work done by all. Might have to try out Barry at some point unless I get my home resoling station up and running first. har har.
Dave Page is very straightforward and honest. He tells me when I've royally hosed my boots as I have done in the past.

I agree with Hudon. Komito Boots in Estes Park, Co has always done an excellent job from my rock shoes to tele boots.

I'll put in a plug for Dave Page. He did a great job on my Makalus and also my Cirque approach shoes. Plus, when you call, he answers the phone.

Over the last 30 years I've used most of the above mention resolers, some used to be great but aren't what they use to be. The only place I would recommend wholeheartedly now is Mad Rock in Industry, CA, I think the guys name is Arturo. They aren't my favorite shoes but the new rubber they resole with, which by the way is not even offered yet on their shoes, is the best I've ever used. The craftsmanship is awesome, they are super quick and charge $15. The guy predominately does warranty work and isn't super busy.

I agree Rubber Room is the best
could not agree more.
In regards to Dave Page, I've seen his work, and it's pretty poor.
I know someone that had to send her shoes back to him twice to get it done correctly.

35+ years of resoling 2-5 per shoe (ignore the fact I only climb once a year, the shoe on the wooden leg takes a real beating)
Barry's - tx to the taco, just used him recently, got about a year in on my all day shoe now, best looking job I've ever seen, awesome attention to detail, he seems to do every pair like his own, being fat old and lazy (me, not Barry), I'll probably use him for all my future pairs since it's true that as you get older you become more conservative (aka lazy) and go with what works.
Komito's - excellent work - best green shoenard resole ever, all others no prob - and you would often get a note from the legend himself(hmmm what FA was Komito known for?)
Wheeler-Wilson to Rubber Room - used to have no complaints, last two resoles delammed, one within about a week, but as jaybro knows, my foot work sucks (hmmm, no suggestions from Barry though ;-)
Doityourself Dude - he sucked, fired that f'er after one pair, got glue everywhere, destroyed a nice grinding wheel, hosed the boot
Lots of other single dirt bags - some gud, some not
Locker - sorry man, can't say as haven't tried you yet but when searching for a new cobbler to try, it was down to Barry and Locker based on the scientific method known as surfing the taco... Both cobblers seemed to have about an equal number of rabid supporters and no dings. The mint won me over. (not that I'd ever put anything in my mouth that's been near a pr of my used shoes) If I ever go to JT, I'll have to lock a pr down.

Over last two years I have sent several pairs (La Sportiva Mythos) to Rubber Room in Bishop for resole. I have not been happy with the quality of repair (half sole) - sometimes the tips have a lot of old rubber just glued over, which makes the shoes difficult to use in narrow cracks. Often the shoes unglued and they lasted less than ~3months. I am looking for a better place.

Two thumbs and both toes up for Rock and Resole in Boulder.
http://rockandresole.com/
Fill out the form online, mail them in, wait 10-15 days, and a box of perfectly resoled shoes comes back. I've had them do ~ 10 pairs of resoles, and all have been great.

I've had shoes resoled by RR and two other resolers in the past 20 years. They all fail to compare with the work from Barry's. I have had 2 mythos, 1 Galileo and 1 miura resoled with him and have had no peeling or problems at all. If fact they all perform like new or better.
