Well.... I'm not sure I agree the guy was vilified. Though outting his name probably wasn't necessary (I knew it from the fact that he responded to me).

Still... thousands of bucks of gear for 100 smackers raises suspicion.

And let's be fair... most people on this thread didn't vilify him. They voiced their suspicion is all.

So anyway.... that listing had two portaledges. Do ya need 'em both? ;-)

Now they guy selling the aliens.... he's being vilified.... and for good reason! LOL! sales tax on the little family....

I don't think you really want a ledge.....You've had a couple golden chances.

None of my beeswax, tho.

I posted the link to the ad to *both* raise awareness about possible stolen gear AND to alert people to a really good deal if the guy turned out to be legit. I wasn't necessarily vilifying the guy, I was also helping him advertise -- had mucci managed to buy the stuff, he would've gotten himself a really good deal.

I would've tried to buy it had I been able to drive down to the south bay...

BooYah... yeah, I know. I blew it twice now. And now I'm stuck. Maybe I should just go find a warm beach instead of getting on EC.

Aaron - you served notice and I hope folks would continue to do that in the way you did it.

Hey nature,
would you be suspicious of somebody selling a pair of Clog ascenders, some pins, a pulley, 4 biners (2 locking) for only $100 ?

Ron... that screams Thief into my right and left ear! Maybe said Thief could toss in a Portaledge and a new haul line?

Nature and Aaron, I agree... the thread was a good idea and Aaron did a service by bringing this to everybody's attention.

P.S. Both the ledges are singles, so I'll keep one for myself and one for my gf.

P.P.S. Probably the coolest thing that he gave me were some of his old shoes. A few pairs are brand new, maybe they didn't fit him perfectly or something. Check this out, one of the brand new pairs... original EB's! One of them hadn't even been laced up yet. So if you see somebody in Yosemite running around in shiny EB's that look way too small for him. That's me!

already tried that fatty. He laughed at me. A lot.

jsb... cool deal but dang... putting the GF in a separate ledge just doesn't seem right.
