1. Let's not assume that our intellectual opponents are:
A. Stupid;
B. Only repeating what some puppet-master told them; or
C. Above (or below) listening to us.
2. Please avoid gratuitous insults (although I admit they can be devastatingly funny at times, they don't make our opponents want to read what we say); and
3. Let's not be insulted when others don't agree with us.
While I agree, John(s), Dr.F is exempt in my book. I can't help it. He posts lies, denies rationality when you prove him wrong. I cannot tolerate that and he pisses me off when he does that.
What's that saying, "Hell is the lack of reason"

Are you kidding me, blue? You are the king of the ad hominem attacks. For all of the thought and contribution you have in these threads, you are well-known for calling anyone who disagrees with you, or remains steadfast in their position, any host of names or attacks.
Before you can return it, yes, I'll cop to my own level of sh#t-slinging towards some of the more irritating people who frequent these threads. Before you start pointing fingers at F or anyone else, remember that whole 'glass houses' thang, eh?

In Blue's defense he has always been respectful of me, though we've never met and disagree on thing or two. He's a guy that I'd share the rope with, or spot if needed and have a fun outing on the stone.
He gets called out as much as does the calling--par for the course on this thread; the calling, that is.

EDIT: Thank you, Mojede. You're and example of person willing to discuss heated topics in a rational, reasoned manner, which I AM capable of. It just depends on whether you choose to be rational or not, Apogee. I won't stand for it. It lessens the discussion and is counter-productive.
The point of discussion is to exchange ideas AND concede points that are valid and reasonable. Some people are incapable and are worthy of marginalization.

The funny thing is Dr. F is the only Liberal who is really guilty of that IMO, while most of those on the right on this thread are really guilty of it.

To my eye, too many of your 'facts' are typical, right wing soundbites, obviously culled from the usual right-wing sources. 'Facts' are things that are inarguable- oftentimes what you believe to be 'facts' are highly subjective opinions- either your own, or another person for whom you have great respect. You present them, and perseverate on them, as though they are inarguable...and get really pissed off when anyone refutes them.
Fairly commonly, you call others names (either participants in a thread, or a subject in a topic) that are clearly homophobic, misogynistic, &/or racist. You have tried to brush these things away as 'just the way I communicate'- even if one accepts that rationale (which I surely do not), when you do this regularly you should not act with any surprise when other people are completely closed to anything you have to say. Which is a shame, because you oftentimes do have valuable perspectives and participation in these dialogues.
You can blow this feedback off (like you usually do from me) bluering, and write it off as coming from a flaming liberal with a personal agenda towards you. Whatever. You are as responsible for how people perceive you as the person who does the perceiving (not sure if I'm stating that the way I mean it).

I don't know who is more dim-witted - you for posing for a picture which could get you fired or your friend for posting it on the internet. And you tell me I am the stupid one. If you drop me an email, I will send you a link to this picture so your "friend" can take it down before the next enemy you make is (unlike me) a vindictive one
and so now, in addition to all the other charming characteristics we can attribute to leb, she reveals she is not above making not-so-veiled threats such as this when things are not going her way on this climber's forum.
would this be tolerated at the crags? if not, why is it tolerated here? would somebody please explain to me why this individual is not persona non grata?
