Thanks for everyone who is contributing to the new trip reports forum! A few of you have asked for a way to easily migrate your old trip reports in the Climbers Forum to the new Trip Reports Forum. So here is how you can do it:
Please post a link to any trip report you have posted on SuperTopo.com that you wanted included in the Trip Reports forum to this thread below.
For example, if i want my Tommy/Mescalito TR to migrate, i would just post the url like this below
http://www.supertopo.com/climbing/thread.php?topic_id=868495
and after the migration it would look like this
http://www.supertopo.com/Trip_Report/working_of_the_first_free_ascent_of_Mescalito
As an added help to us, if you could post where the trip report is from in the following format, that would be great:
Mescalito, El Capitan, Yosemite Valley, California
http://www.supertopo.com/climbing/thread.php?topic_id=868495
Snake Dike, Half Dome, Yosemite Valley, california
http://www.supertopo.com/climbing/thread.php?topic_id=855721
those search keywords really make my job easier!!!
Thank you everyone for your awesome TR's and inspiring photos!

I hope that the most excellent "big heads" trip report migrates. That is the all time funniest and most excellent of TRs!

Hey Chris-
Any way to add an events tab? Like the face lift, sushi fests, stonemaster tour, etc.?

ST Director of Hooliganism, RJ just migrated a bunch of Trip Reports and there are now 330+ in the site. Thank you!
by popular demand, we will keep the window open. So if you can continue to post your trip report to this thread until 10/31 we will keep migrating them in batches. After 11/1 we will no longer be migrating old Forum posts to the Trip Reports Forum
As an added help to us, if you could post where the trip report is from in the following format, that would be great:

Hey Chris, could you describe how to transfer a photo from some other hosting site to Super Topo? When you migrated my Red Rock TR, you did this with a whole slew of photos from ImageCave, so there is obviously a mechanism for doing it, but there doesn't seem to be any button mechanism for doing this unless the photo is being uploaded from my computer.

Chris: FYI, under my Trip Reports, the Val Bregaglia, Switzerland trip report was migrated over twice and the North Dome Gully report is missing.

Is there any way to get new TRs to show up in the climbing forum as well. It sure seems like when a TR is posted there it gets a lot more views/discussion/comment than when the same TR is posted in the TR section. I like having them split out when I only want beta and not spray, but it also nice to just have a "recent posts" view. Sorry if this is the wrong thread to ask. :-)

I really kind of hope this service has not been curtailed, there is a lot more work to be done in this direction....
A lot of stuff to be preserved

Please move over...

Chris, it'd be cool if trip reports could start out in the Forum, then move to Trip Reports. But I don't know if that is possible. Seems like more eyes are on the Forum than on the TRs, but you don't want to lose everyone's comments and repost as a TR after it was already in the forum.
Thanks for moving this one over, I appreciate it.
