Like Russ and Suze, I always look hot - I'm just not always in shape. But I will say over the course of decades I've gotten to where I kind of like the whole grueling process of getting back in shape after various big software projects. Or at least I keep doing it. Have half a rack hanging on the high anchor of the latest project from last fall so I'm kind of obligated to get back to it again. Gonna have to sneak away to Red Rocks and get whipped by the locals sometime soon to get things kick-started again.

These guys (or guy?) that keep getting posted--the pole dancer
and the zoom-in crotch -- are these just some amusing internet
image or is it (them?) somebody famous?
If the latter, what do I need to know about this person to
make it funny?

Largo- I got blown the f-up. I am fine now though. Merely a flesh wound. That was in '06. On another note, I beleive you did the FFA of the North Butt of Middle? One of my favorite long routes. What was that like? Any one thing that sticks out in memory? I seem to think of the around the corner crack trasfer and the face climbing at the top. Real nice.

OK, my ego has gotten the better of me.
These don't involve climbing, but it was my wedding after all. I was feelin' pretty, pretty, pretty good.
In front of the commune (city hall) in Cortona, Italy where our civil ceremony was to take place:
Figuring out how things were going to work at the Villa where we were to have our spiritual ceremony (that's my wife again in the middle and the countess who owned the villa... so Italian!)
Stylin' in the '63 cinquecento we rented to shuttle us between our wedding locales:
My wife will always be way hotter than me, though. It's not even a competition.

Bouldering in the Gunks in my days of 1% body fat...
Note the special bouldering sock set-up, good for 20-below sessions. All that wool was to make sure that whatever shreds of sensitivity survived the RD steel shank would be be eliminated before ever reaching any nerve endings in the foot.

Hey Hankster and bluering, thanks! Yeah, she is one hottie alright. And more: I told everyone on the day we got married that when I picked her I knew she came with the "challenge" option. Very smart and keeps me on my toes. Just what I wanted. It's been a great ride.
As to what's going on in that photo, so much was happening in those days and weeks, it's like a dream. I think we were seeing if we could stage the ceremony by the pool behind us on this little peninsula thing that jutted out into it. I think we were role playing to see how it would work out. It ended up not being the place since it was too small for everyone.
It was the first time we had met the countess and she was sunbathing in a bikini with some other fine Italian ladies when we arrived. She put on a shirt and got all "proper" to help us out.
One of the best days of my life in a life of many best days.
Fletch
EDIT: now that I think of it, alcohol may have been involved in the Italian style (kind of like surfing the tow-beer wave but with vino nobile di montepulciano).

Thanks Tony for the kind words. Some say you are a punk, but I've always aspired to hang out with a high quality punk like you... LOL
As for "packin' heat" and three letter agencies... just let me say that I had something to do with inspiring the Bond that Daniel Craig has created.... NOT! Though, the adventures my wife I have had and still tend to have do tend to take on a somewhat Bond flavor... though we're aspiring to bump that up to the Thomas Crowne level. She's able to go from the mountains to the opera in the same day... just what I always wanted!

Holy cow, Karen... you are channeling Meg Ryan... and I mean that only in the best possible way! Very cute and thanks for contributing to the ladies side of things.
Glad to have included my wife too... it was an intentionally stealth move to keep my own head from getting too big. But her hottest goes way beyond those photos, as good as they are. But that's for another day.

I was definitely hot in this picture, do I look it?
I was probably at my "hottest" back when I was 18 and swimming up to 2 miles a day, and body surfing till I couldn't walk anymore.
I have no pictures from that time, wish I did.
Or when I first started climbing and was totally obsessed. I gained 20 pounds of muscle in a year. No lie, 120 was a little thin for a 5'8" gal anyway.
Or perhaps it was when I was grooming race horses and did 100 pull ups in 2 sets of 50 on a bet. At the laundromat, off a clothes bar, egged on by jockeys much smaller than me.
I've never been a fan of having my picture taken, especially when scantily clad.
Here's a picture from last summer, at my thinnest in a long time, from worry. But horribly out of shape, inside and out.

Oh, the pain of truth, especially when it is so totally unexpected...
Here's the thing: until Anastasia signed on with the real thing, most folks were wryly celebrating their relative lack of hotness.
Now that actual hotness has happened, most have responded by, well, by going back to celebrating notness, if I may be allowed to contract "not-hotness" in this way. Continuing in this vein, we might ask,
"what is the nottest you ever looked?"
But spare us the knott references if possible...

This thread isn't creepy at all.
Once again, we have three token female posters and then the numberless hordes of old guys bumping naked photos of themselves and calling each other "homo."
Each second it stays on the front page, C-Mac's hopes of attracting a younger demographic to this site, grow dimmer.

I've goten like 10,000 back channel notes on that pic.
So here's the deal. It's around 1982 and I'm in the Outback (Austraila) trying to film (for a long defunct TV show) a Corroboree, a traditional Aboriginal ceremony. The locals say fine but everyone's gotta take part - so we all had to pound ten beers, get painted up, strip down to the bare essentials and start marching arond the fire to the plaintive drone of the Didgeridoo. Next thing I know I'm waking up in Wambangalang with a three day beard and a shiner . . .

Cute, but the thread has drifted a lot from Hank's cool original intention of "how hot *you* once [may have] looked".
And to me, posting photos of ex-gfs/SOs without their permission is a basic internet no-no. Sorry to sound negative, but it's not a good idea in my view.
[To be fair, the same applies to Roy's old threads "Girls Who Rock...", but I never spoke up there.
And guido has strayed a bit, too. Something about the 60s? :-)
And the concept of when one has "permission" can be somewhat vague.]
And this must be me at about my hottest? Or maybe coolest.... :-)

Body-wise, I was most proud over the New Years holiday season '99 - '00 period. Felt strongest, maybe looked well below Bruce Lee.... But inching near...
All down hill from there.
(Kinda funny saying down hill from there... Isn't going downhill easier than up? It don't feel like it!)

In the same vein as Mark Hudon's elder beefcake El Cap shot, here's my contribution to the Men of Medicare subthread.
Racking up for Fall climbing in front of a radiator has become an essential ritual for toasting arthritic joints and scar-tissue laced sinew into a willingness to go out and actually pull on things, and so I am quite literally the hottest I've ever been here. A bad cough from a lingering cold provided the necessary body tension for full doddering definition.

Dick, Hank will chime in I'm sure..
It can be VERY hard on it, or not hard at all.
Depends on how fast you learn how to control your canopy properly on landing.
People today tend to want to downsize their canopy as fast as possible - usually far too quickly.
Myself, I was always happy with a nice big nylon overcast that I knew wouldn't hurt me too bad for being stupid. But that was also before all this "swooping" nonsense started.

Silly boys,
You're only pretty as you feel
Only pretty as you feel inside
You're only pretty as you feel
Just as pretty as you feel inside
When you wake up in the morning
Rub some sleep from your eye
Look inside your mirror
Comb your hair
Don't give no vanity a second thought
No no no
Beauty is only skin deep
It goes just so far 'cause
You're only pretty as you feel
As pretty as you feel inside
You're only pretty as you feel
So girl, don't hang yourself up
On no plastic face
A little bit of soap will wipe away
Any grease
'Cause you're only pretty as you feel
Mama, I say
You're only pretty as you feel inside
Straight ah
So now you're feelin' so pretty
Now you're feelin' so good
Now you're ready to face the world
Now you're feelin' good
Go out there and knock them silly, girl
Go out there, show 'em how to thrill
Go out there, show 'em how to thrill
'Cause you're only pretty as you feel
Say, you're only pretty as you feel
Mama, you're only pretty as you feel
Pretty as you feel inside
Now, you're only pretty as you feel
Feelin' pretty, feelin' pretty
You're only pretty as you feel
Feelin' so pretty, feelin' so pretty
You're feelin' so pretty
You're feelin' so pretty
Pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty
Pretty mama, mama

man it's been a tough run,
i've not been on crank but i migh tas well have,
not nearly enough sleep,
cranking out midnight design,
climbing and wrestling trees all day,
never enough time to shower, groom.
just now i was hugging my wife,
kinda kneading the muscles on her upper back,
affectionate-like
and she howled out in pain,
then i realized that i was treating her
like a stubborn branch,
and i needed to tame-down the tactical application.

2:55 is superb, Sully! Sub 3 was my goal years ago. The closest I got was 3:13 and that was when I was 16. Weighing only 145 helped! Now I just like being outside and enjoying whatever the day and road/trail brings. Did a great run in Morgan Hill today, where I'm staying for a few days. Reminded me of how I kept my sanity when I lived and worked in Silicon Valley!
Cheers!

Norwegian - one day ill tell you the debacle of the green label switch to pop-offs. the end result was a check written to me, for $10, from Sierra Nevada, and some cool stickers, a press release on the reason they switched, and a key chain.

Hanging out in Boise mid 70s.....
This could be hotter.....off to climb the North Face of Mt. Borah again w Scott Erickson...mid 70s. The car is certainly hot too, but not mine!
Oh geez, can't leave this one out - The false Summit of Borah succumbed here. Photo Doug Stewart!
And, gotta get the North Face of Borah in there!

I re-discovered & scanned this early 1980's photo of me on a Maui beach.
Strange to see that I once had muscles, long hair, & a tan.

Okay Anita, here are a couple. From slides, and I don't have correct profile for scanning Kodachrome, so the color is off.
I don't consider this "hot", but it's from an interesting part of my life (for me), in Aamdo (Northern Tibet), November 1983. What's not evident is the subterfuge needed to get out there and stay without being arrested. It was very closed territory at the time.

Either way, and no offense Jim, but this is supposed to be about the hottest, and that does look rather cold.
