Where o where is Tucker Tech? Three girls one being me, knew Tucker in 8 of his finest years. We were called Tuckers Trio. Tucker introduced Big Wall Climing to me by dragging me up the nose which got me hooked. I want to get a hold of him but how???

Tuckersbabes;...here ya go;.....get yourselves all wet over this one;.......Tucker will be climbing (And signing autographs) at the Needles this Fri. to Tues. We climbed together this evening at Joshua Tree. He is still ruggedly handsome, and eats his cereals (hops/grains/barleys) out of a can for breakfast........(lunch and dinner). His secret with the ladies?.........he hasn't washed his feet since 2004 or 2005. He is still the babe magnet, the barometer of hip, and the definition of GQ.

I am still wondering how I can get a hold of Tucker Tech. He would freak out if he knew we (myself, and the other two girls) were trying to get a hold of him. We all lived in Camp 4 in the early 1990's on SAR. He would trip out!

Can we tell Tucker Tech stories now?
Late one Friday afternoon back in '84 we were driving to Fremont Canyon, tooling along on the gravel road in the legendary Expandmobile, with a couple of beers under our belts and maybe a psily mushroom or two, going putt-putt-putt in second gear because we're heading straight into the sunset and I'm navigating more by looking at the side of the road than straight ahead when Tucker points to something and the road turns hard to the left but we just keep going straight, down an embankment and into a stream.
My glasses flew off in the sudden stop, but the seatbelt caught me. Not Tucker, though, who categorically refused to wear one. There's a big spiderweb on his side of the windshield and he's bleeding right from the middle of his forehead. "Tucker, are you o.k.? Let me see your eyes..." His pupils are huge but the sizes are not equal, one is dilating while the other is contracting...a concussion, probably, or maybe just the shrooms ...he points to the blood and declares "My Head has never hit Anything Harder than It."

well it sure don't look like he is in too much pain up above there.
This place is neat, you throw a jab at somebody, then you get all red faced because you find out that they invented half dome, and they tell the Moon when to come up.

Back in 1980 I spent a week with Tucker climbing off widths and chimmney's in the valley. After 5 days all my joints were oozing sores and I needed a break. Not Tucker he was gladly off to another day of nasty dirt filled off width grovel fest. We climbed a moss filled chimmney on Liberty spire thinking we were on lower cathedral spire(or something else). It was quite an adventure. my first real week of climbing he took me up east buttress of lower cathedral we had only one rope and topped out in the dark without headlamps and had to go down Gunsight in the dark, looping the one rope over boulders for a rappel anchor. He went first on the rappels. I asked him about only having one rope , his reply was "summit or plummit".

Met Tucker at a rock climbing class in 1979. I gather from the post he has become a substantial climber and an alcoholic. I knew him before he was either. He was however well on his way to being unusual.

Well, spoonman, IMHO Tucker is a very exceptional person. I don't really like to label people....too broad spectrum, too all inclusive and many times too negative.
People are individuals, Ya ? Comprised of many gifts, talents, faults and foibles....I am first to fall into the faults and foibles catagory.
Tucker likes cerveza and Tucker is a great and special Dude. Have yo seen his rock walls ??? Did you know after climbing all day he picks up a nice 40 pound rock, throws it in his pack and carries it home to keep building his rock walls.

I have nothing but nice to say about Tucker. Obviously he's an artist at horticulture and rockwork...which I have done and it is difficult.

i don't know if it was inspired by this thread or not, but i woke up yesterday with a dream where tucker was the main character. he was teaching a class. in the end all i knew is that i was in town, but i needed to get into the park to sleep that night so i could wake up in hidden valley. one of the last parts of his class he was emphasizing the importance of sleeping near minerals...i think there was something about mass murders as well, but i forget that part.
all i know is that that was probably the third random dream that tucker popped into to play a leading role...wierd.

tucker is not drinking beer? how is that affecting him? i always thought his liver was dependent on the stuff. i assume he is still surly. does he drink water at all now? i think diet soda could be just as bad as beer on the body. he could start to gain weight, on those things. well a good experiment anyhow. i hope he is well. i camped in the site next to his on my first trip to joshua tree. it maybe gave me the distorted view of reality which i still hold.

On arriving in the valley in '84 I recruited (or was recruited by?) Tucker for an ascent of DNB. It was a fairly burly choice for first route of the season, so I'm guessing it was probably his idea. It all went very smoothly, we simuled the upper chimneys, and were back on the valley floor in plenty of time for afternoon libations. Tucker somehow never managed to find my RPs amongst his gear, but I now realise they were a small price to pay for a day with a Legend.

Ah yes, "The Night Of The Bottle" will live on for centuries to come. Tucker took quite a dive into that bottle. The next morning he was in really rough shape. So much so he stayed in bed most of the day.
Hey Todd, thanks for the bolts! Tucker and I are putting up the route this morning. It will be one of the longest single pitch routes in the park. Around 180 feet at 10b/c. Super fun route!

I am pretty sure I saw Tucker at the hidden valley parking lot in jtree last weekend,recognized him from this thread,But wasnt 110% sure at the time,he was drinking a beer in the back of a truck bed.I knew i recognized him from somewhere lol =)

For the past 30 years it doesnt matter where Im camping, i swear to god if tucker isnt in the site next to me then hes camped nearby. Im thinking there must be Tucker clones or something. Case in point. I climbed tahquitz for the first time in 15 years with my son last summer. It was a friday afternoon and few people were on the stone. We top out on angels fright and who happens to be topping out about 100 feet away on the open book about the same time? Tucker and Todd. Its uncanny.

Leg loops are for whimps!!
Harness money is a waste.
About 20ft of 1" tubular webbing is fine for a swami.
3-4 coils of the rope with bowline on the coil is even more comfortable AND thrifty.
Good climbers never fall anyway.

Is it true TT does pyramid training, first climb of the day he has one beer, second - two, third - three, up to his tenth then back down to one, he's honed! Then after climbing he goes out for beers!
