A cold morning this fall, Tenaya to Cathedral:
Tenaya before sunrise:
Foot of the Tenaya Buttress:
Start of the 5th class:
Typical features of this great climb, lots of flakes and cracks in clean, pretty granite:
Frosted pines looking East, and the first rays of morning:
Some snow on the ledges up top:
Once at the summit, it's a beautiful hike along the ridge to get to Cathedral:
Water sources on said ridge if you left the water in the car, thinking you just wanted to do Tenaya and head down, but later decide the day is bluebird and you'd like to walk over to Cathedral:
Looking back at the sweep of Tenaya:

During the right time of the year, there's a great ski run from the summit there down to that little tarn in the middle of your photo. You just gotta make sure that you traverse over into the next chute so that you don't ski off a cliff. (:

i inadvertently took two of the same pictures from the same spot, one in the middle of summer the other in the middel of winter, years apart from each other. didn't even realize for a long time...thought it was kinda cool....
