Hey Team,
I just wanted to address the rumors about what happened today and give ya'll a brief update.
Quinn and Josie were climbing the Nose when Quinn took an approximately 100 foot fall mid lead up the boot flake and unfortunately struck Texas flake. She is alive, alert/oriented, and stable but dealing with severe and likely life long injuries.
I am with her, Josie is on her way and her family will arrive tomorrow.
We will update here as Quinn and her family deem appropriate.
Thanks,
Libby

UPDATE:
Josie and I spent all night with Quinn in the ICU. She’s awake and finally being allowed to drink so she is super excited about that as it had been over 24 hours without anything but IV fluids and mouth swabs.
Her plan of care remains extremely complicated and as of yet fully undetermined.
She has requested ‘fingers crossed’ for her recovery and also jokes. She wants to laugh. So, send your best, SuperTacoans.
We will be getting a Caring Bridge website up for more complete updates once I can get my computer to work. Those of you that know me on FB can write Quinn a letter there (or post here) and Josie and I will read them to her until the CB site goes up. We might not be able to respond to everyone because duh, Quinn is f*#king awesome and so very many people love her. But we will be sure your jokes, message and well wishes get to her.
Thanks, Team.

Morning everyone,
Quinn remains stable and is looking towards her new future with the dogged determination we would expect from her.
She continues in the ICU at Doctors Hospital of Modesto in California. She is scheduled for her surgery Monday afternoon but we are still investigating alternative options and facilities.
Her boyfriend and parents arrived safely yesterday.
Currently, If you would like to send a card, you can do so by addressing them to her by name and the hospital. They will send them to her room. She is likely to only be here till Tuesday or Wednesday though (if the plan doesn't change) before transferring to a new, as of yet undetermined center. Please be aware that as she is in the ICU, she cannot accept flowers, food or latex balloons.
Alternatively, since we aren't fully sure of her plan and location, a mailed card may arrive after transfer. But I have a challenge - those of you that personally know Quinn know she loves a good handstand. Drop what you're doing and take a hand/head stand photo and post up here or on her FB page.
Also, keep the jokes coming!
Much love, team.

This joke is def not for the young one but was def a Quinn favorite at one point so here it goes
So there is an old couple driving down the road, grandpa behind the steering wheel maybe driving a bit reckless. Well the fly past an unmarked cop car who the pulls them over. the cop walks up to the car and asks tha grandpa for his license and reg. Grandma in the passenger seat is a bit hard of hearing and yells out what he say?!?! granpa replies with a bit of yell that "he wants my license and reg". Next the cop asks the old man if he knows why he got pulled over and again the grandma yells out "what he say!?!" Again the old man repeats what the cop has said. Looking at the grandpas license he notices that they are from the same town. the cop tells the old man that he used to date a women from their town and adds with a bit of a chuckle that was a terrible lay. Again the grandma yells " what he say?!" and the grandpa yells back at her, "he says he knows ya!"
Thanks for looking out for qb and hopefully keeping her laughing

Here are some handstands from a variety of fun places for Quinn. These are mostly of my GF, but Quinn's friend Lisa B. from Bishop (of Lisa B. and Huck fame- Huck is YOSAR) shows up in a couple of photos, too- please let her know. We haven't met Quinn, sadly, but we know lots of folks in common. When Quinn, Lizzy, et al went to Greenland a few years back, I introduced Lizzy to a friend of mine in Iceland and everyone ended up staying with her when a spat of bad weather prevented travel to Greenland. Good thoughts heading Quinn's way!

Team,
Quinn will have surgery here in Modesto on Monday. We have consulted with damn near every climber physician on the west coast and through them have spoken to some of the countries top neurosurgeons. (Our community is f*#king amazing at rallying!) Quinn is getting the best care possible.
She is surrounded by a gaggle of eager friends and her loving family that are totally sending when it comes to coordinating her care.
Quinn remains on large doses of pain meds and sleeps as much as the nurses and doctors will allow. But when awake she smiles and talks eagerly about wanting to get to work on starting rehab.
Please continue to send your love her way but if you want something more tangible, we finally have a fundraising site with various options up and running.
https://www.youcaring.com/quinnbrett
Quinn has insurance but with the complexity and duration of the care she has and will need, her medical and new life costs will be extraordinary.
And again, if you are friends with Quinn and wish to be kept up to date with her care, please email, FB message or text me, her brother or her boyfriend and we will send you an invite link to access her private CaringBridge page. If you have already done so but don't see the email, check your spam box. Other than the occasional BUMP for her fundraiser, I will mostly cease doing these public updates.
Much love and thanks to you all.

Hi Quinn,
A few years ago I was up at HD with my buddy Todd Johnson from Missouri. We saw you on the Nose a couple days earlier.. I remember saying to Todd "that chick is strong"! Then there you were up at HD no worse for wear! As I recall you were pretty quiet with a nice smile. You made an impression on myself and Todd on that trip!
My wife Lori and I are sending you positive healing energy!
Get well!

We love this woman. She is a true inspiration. Right now she needs our help. She will be undergoing a lengthy recovery which will also be costly. Her insurance is covering a good chunk of the cost of the emergency care, but the rehab process is going need support from the tribe. We want to get this woman out and after it, inspiring others again. Please do what you can. Every little bit counts! Thanks for all the love, prayers and support going out to Quinn.

I am typing this from the hospital with Quinn. My family and I can't thank you all enough for your actions and support over the last few days. Additionally, there are a number of people who played key roles that we would like to thank personally, because without your effort we would likely be looking at a significantly different landscape. We are extremely grateful to the following people:
Josie, for your quick thinking and your ability to leverage all of your experience to expedite Quinn’s rescue. Despite all of your climbing, rigging, and rescue experience, I can’t imagine it was easy for you to go through what you did with Quinn and still have the capacity to focus and immediately come to her aid. My family and I will be eternally grateful for everything that you have done. Thank you!
Libby, for dropping everything you were doing and being the first one here at the hospital with Quinn. Your support, boundless energy, drive, and ability to stay focused has been a tremendous asset. Also, thank you for all the time and effort you put into establishing the outreach and communication platforms. I have been in a daze since Wednesday, and I would still be spinning my wheels without your support. Thank you!
Rescue team (including YOSAR, pilots, spotters, and the rest of your support team), for your astounding skill and bravery. Since I was a child visiting Yosemite National Park in the 80’s, I have not only admired those strong enough to climb the great Yosemite walls, but also those who are brave AND strong enough to put themselves at risk while rescuing the climbers in need. Thank you!
Tom Evans, for your photography skills and overall contributions to the climbing community. I have followed your reports for years, admiring the quality of the images and amazing feats you captured through your lens. Quinn is modest and not much of a self-promotor, so your reports and photographs helped me keep tabs on my sister and witness her amazing adventures from afar. I’m grateful that you were in the valley last week and able to document the rescue. Your photographs capture not only the severity of the situation, but also the bravery off those who rescued her. Thank you!
There are many more people I have yet to thank, or thank again, but the ST community and those folks I wrote about above deserve special recognition.
Best,
Cory Brett

Hey Quinn... I don't know you but we have a ton of mutual friends. I've been thinking so much about you and wanted to share a handstand photo in support of you, your recovery and amazing spirit. This is from maple 🍁 canyon a few years ago. Much love and strength to you on this crazy journey we call life.

What’s the difference between a Catholic priest and a zit?
A zit will wait until you’re twelve before it comes on your face.
:) have a great day!
