Well thanks for the contributions Avery. Sounds like you've seen it all I guess??
Please don't delete your threads, you've made some valuable contributions here & managed to weasel some awesome info from out of the craniums of some of the great sages here & into the archives that are supertopo. Thanks for that, your info on climbing in NZ is very cool too!
Anyways, see ya later!

Often times the attempt is a cry for help.
Successfully killing off an online persona is more like a growth spurt of maturity and a clear perception of the value of ones own time.

A package arrived at my door while I was CLIMBING yesterday.

Probably just my naïveté, but since (at least I think) all his posts were about climbing he was just being polite and saying "thanks for a nice time....gotta run now". To me it sounded like he might be doing research or something. I didn't read all his stuff but that was my take. He certainly didn't sound like he had his knickers in a twist, or maybe that don't use that expression where he is.
Avery, if you're still around I did enjoy your contributions even if they are way, way, way above my pay grade.

Everybody gets pulled back to the Taco Stand. Nobody leaves. It's the best resource for climbing/politics/culture ever.
That's my take anyway. Anything you want to know about climbing can be answered rather quickly on this forum. And you can also get the weather on current political events.

Nobody who is a climber ever leaves the Taco Stand once they have been here. Some go on hiatus (or climbing), but they always come back.
Best site ever for climbing, politics, and random cultural discussion. It's also about the only place to actually talk climbing with the old-timers, and get real questions answered.

Avery, who used to be a climber, came on board ST asking a bunch of Socratic questions leading to many an interesting thread about climbing. (Go figure.) He probably exceeded his quota of questions while leaving his allotment of spray and politard postings unused. Probably exceeded the ST quotient of Kiwis given the restrictions elicited by PTC's sycophant stalkers. Got a few rough replies to aforementioned pertinent queries which exceeded his tolerance for abuse by some regulars' oxymoronic verbiage. So he's leaving like so many who would post about climbing on ST thinking it's about climbing, not climbers.
You're welcome

Well Dr Sprock what kind of balls would you like?, you weren't very specific.
In terms of climbing relevance you have absolutely nothing offer.
Your pics would be perfect for anything other than a climbing site.
This is first and foremost a climbing forum, unfortunately a lot of people such as yourself have sadly forgotten this.
You are a master of in-consequence, passing off your vast limitations in some sort of pseudo hip twilight zone
I've made a lot of mistakes along the way, but I can honestly say that everything I've attempted to do has been directly related to climbing.
Cheers, Dr.Sprock and do yourself a favor, stay out of direct sunlight.

Have to agree with eKat she knows her tones. Kid is not bad, needs to stop scratching the strings [ first or beginning of the tune; 0.38 secs can hear it the strongest]; just needs concentration on tuning of his fingers other than that and maybe changing or using different size gauges on the strings. Could be the guitar itself. Sure in the next couple of years he will get or given one.

Mr Norway,
Now there is a RA forum topic.
"Lessons Ron Missed in Kindergarten"
1. Take the high road.
2. Be a good loser.
3. It's better to keep your mouth shut and be thought a fool than to open it and remove all doubt.
4. Learn to say you are sorry.
5. Don't play with your poop.
This is fun. Anyone can play.

If people out there take the time to read my initial statement, the reason I'm still posting should be obvious!
Cheers

I'm kinda dense. So it is not obvious to me. The first step is admitting that you have a problem.

This thread has legs. I am glad that Avery is still in the game. Avery, I bet you get more answers to your questions later on down the line.

Hey Locker, perhaps I changed "Posts" To "threads". You could be on to something here. I'm preparing for the backlash.

Well, Avery, I should apologize for chiding you. Just tired of people claiming that they're "done with this place".
I guess you just meant you had no other new threads to post.
Obviously, you're welcome to stick around. Almost everyone is. Cheers!

Thanks bluering, I had every intention of staying away but a couple of cheap insults (masquerading as humor) warranted a come back. I've a nagging suspicion they were designed to do just that. Ambiguity has never felt so liberating.

You don't really need to announce every intention.
Honestly we don't need you to do that.
Get over yourself lol

Avery,
What many are doing to you here is called trolling- you are a perfect target as you have great manners, assume people are genuine, & seem relatively inexperienced in terms of western vernacular & humour. They are simply posting to incite a response from you, any response actually. Especially since you announced you were not going to post anymore, it is now a fun game to see how much more ppl can get you to post.
Cheers,
RyanD
Ps- Before you respond to my post be sure to read it twice.

Seriously, every thread like this is always good for some lols. I can't seem to remember anyone who did the "IM LEAAAVINGGG" thing that didn't come back. 180-odd posts later and here ya still are!
On the bright side, this was obviously a very successful attempt to get people to pay attention to you. Kudos to you Sir, well done!
