It must suck having such a name: "Graniteclimber" when you could not ever be half the man Steve is on the medium of granite.

Do you even climb.

Shipoopi IS A REAL "granite climber" - that just must chafe your computer-chaired ass so much.

SPECTRE, Illuminati.

Could you be more transparent about the world you live in?

Yes, that one - in your mind.

Because it is all you have, and it is weak and pathetic.

Don't take my word for it:

The real kicker for me was when he started his thread AFTER Madbolter got on the other thread and said Steve stepped up, did the right thing and was forgiven (yet again!).

Did that matter one whit to this 3rd party intardnet wanker? No.

This guy is so much worse then Fatty, Rocjox and LEB. At least they had some good input and were entertaining. I'm with Werner about not banning anyone but if they're gone this guy should definitely go. Personal insult and calling people out anonymously ain't right...

bump.

from dirtbag's "graniteclimber appreciation" thread of a couple years back:

There's a reason why I'm not posting under my own name. Those threads have a collection of irrational people and I've already had physical violence threatened against me. (Edit: Not by Tom--I wouldn't be worried if he knew who I was except that it might leak out to the others.) When I post under my real name, I avoid dealing with people I think are irrational. It's not worth the risk.

i invite the granite to come out of his closet. it'll do his causes, and his credibility here, a world of good. but i suspect that there's a reason for sticking to that closet, and it isn't the one he gives here.

Tony, we all know your hate and paranoia concerning GC from Klimmer's Ark on the Moon thread. He made you look damn silly and you accused him of being a government agent and tried to out his identity. He responded by showing you why you don't splatter your personal info on the net.

It's strange you would bump this thread, very strange. Let it go.

yes, you read it right, sewelly--and he admits as much over on the tom cochrane thread, where he somehow accuses me of stalking him. go figure. but, you see, this was my punishment for criticizing the government while living in a household where someone worked for a public university.

you know, monolith, you do a pretty good job of being graniteclimber's little bulldog. you've never been able to hold your own in an argument either. klimmer's ark thread raised a number of disturbing issues which ought to be evident to anyone who looks into them. while i've disagreed with klimmer on much of it, i think the only people who make fools of themselves are those too ignorant and immature to look at evidence and discuss it like adults. graniteclimber shifts into "dump" mode when he can't control things. he dumps ST full of everything from cartoon characters to hamsters. but, deep down, he never comes across as a climber, and that's the big problem with him being here. he wants to throw stones from a coward's bunker. i dare the little chicken to move into a glass house.

If you believe in chemtrails and going to chemtrail conferences, starting chemtrail threads is normal, then yeah, he's normal. So is Klimmer.

But then again, who wants to be normal?

But seriously, Tony is as tinfoily as they come.

He is often very full of f*#k, however I think anyone with half a brain can see that.

That is to say, if you can't tell that he is either A) a hilarious troll or B) completely delusional, there is no helping you.

That being said, I always like to assume the best and maybe he's just a dude pulling on legs to get reactions, in which case you have to not consider everything he says as a personal attack but an anonymous voice saying the off-color thing people think but won't say. Sometimes he is off (like the S. Schneider incident... wayyyy off), but I'll say this (and I'll say it once):

Play with fire, you get burned. When you wreck someone's camp in Patagonia, I will be a little less sympathetic when you cry foul about fixed ropes. Then again, I'm a useless kid in SoCal so what I think don't really matter anyway lol.

I've not been following the tin-foil hat threads much, but I always thought Tony Bird was one of the normal ones. No?

Tony has been very active in the 9/11 conspiracy theory community. He has published three articles under his name.
http://www.ae911truth.org/en/news-section/41-articles.html?start=400
http://www.globaloutlook.ca/pdfs/13%20TOC.pdf

He also claims to have co-authored an article with an infamous 9/11 "truther ," Richard Gage. http://www.supertopo.com/climbing/thread.php?topic_id=1997501&msg=1997978#msg1997978

He has hosted a 9/11 truther strategy meeting at his house.
http://www2.ae911truth.org/speakings.php

He thinks that there is an organization called the Illuminati that runs everything as part of some conspiracy. He believes that I am part of that conspiracy. I thought this was funny enough to adapt an Illuminati avatar.

I did not think it was funny for him to describe how he wanted to beat up someone he knew because he'd heard second-hand that he was Illuminati. I took that as a veiled threat do engage in physical violence towards me and did looked into whether he was a serious threat. I don't think he is, but I feel safer not having people like him know where I live.

Sometimes he is off (like the S. Schneider incident... wayyyy off),

Greg, if you go back to the S. Schneider incident thread you'll see how wrong you are. I nailed it! S. Schneider posted a follow-up admitting that he was wrong, and that someone had taken down the ropes as trash, just like I was saying was the most likely scenario the whole time. It took balls for him to post that and my respect for him hugely increased. Very few people who do what he did.

Borghoff for example.. what pushed him over the edge is an inability to read time right. Anyone who can read, can see this, but I don't expect him to admit this.

Well, off I get to solve another caper, The Secret of Shadow Ranch (sullly's favorite book when she was seven). First I must brush my "titian blond hair" though.

Shadow Ranch was good, but Old Clock was better.

Did you read just the revisions or the originals?

I don't get it (I never did). What is this all about? Am I bumping a useless thread?

Has this turned into a right versus left thing? I find this thread amusing, and yet disturbing at the same time. Tony seems to be okay, as far as I can tell, but graniteclimber, I don't know who he is.

this is probably the best place to make a note of this.

tom cochrane asked me to delete my sparring posts with graniteclimber off his thread about his climbing career. it was GC, of course, who decided to attack tom there, as "punishment" for tom's posts about mind control and dark ops, subjects which GC apparently does not consider politically correct.

i have deleted my posts, in accordance with tom's wishes, but i noted that graniteclimber has not deleted his. this does not surprise me. GC is an attack dog, and a fear-biting one at that. he takes care not to throw his stones from a glass house, but from a concealed identity on supertopo, and he has been getting away with it so far. however, even his apparent friends on here have failed to vouch that he has any business here as a climber. although he busies himself on many of climbing threads, mostly as an opinionated poster, he exhibits little real experience of, or love for, climbing.

be that as it may, i am not calling for the booting of GC off of supertopo. one of my basic premises is freedom of expression, and i think anyone ought to be able to join us. personally, i had no problem putting up with fattrad, rokjox, LEB, or crowley. i think that they were all real climbers except for LEB, and she didn't pretend to be.

i will add once again that tom's posts on the sandy hook shootings thread rather surprised me. he has been quite reserved in sharing some of the information he is privy to with us on supertopo, and i'm afraid that GC's attack tactics on his climbing career thread will make him reticent once again.

was that what was behind his push to get you booted, dr. F? i never figured it out. he acted as though it was the last straw and time to show you the highway.

interestingly, granite seemed to develop an unusual quality of chivalry whenever LEB had the floor on here, becoming the gallant defender of that attack-inspiring damsel. perhaps they're cut out of the same cloth, although, as i said, LEB never pretended to be a rockclimber. she pretended to be a practical nurse living on a gentrified farm in pennsylvania.

I must admit, I have enjoyed the popcorn factor of his trolling occasionally, but he definitely isn't helping any discussion but rather frustrating a lot of people. If people would just stop taking things so seriously sometimes I think they would see the humour in it and learn to laugh rather than cry.

I do not agree with him badgering people on climbing threads, I see this as behaviour that will be corrected for him eventually if he doesn't do it himself soon.
