Some time during our High Sierra Loop adventure, we started to talk about the many different views of Half Dome we’ve seen this year. Sure, your average Yosemite visitor has the standard pictures from Inspiration Point, Glacier Point, Sentinel Bridge, etc. But venture a little further off the beaten path and there are lots more views to be had (and our collection is far from complete).
Enjoy!
Half Dome from Glacier Point
Casey tops out on Acorn Dome
The brilliant south face from the Clouds Rest trail (cables route is visible on the right side)
A hazy Half Dome above Merced Lake from the High Sierra Loop
More Photos:

Please post up some more photos of Half Dome! It would be interesting to see how many angles we can get.

I gotta think there's a lot of undiscovered routes up there still
And can't believe that Growing Up hasn't had a second ascent despite spectacular cracks.

Death Slabs view of Half Dome.
Spent a lot at Acorn dome over the summer. I'll be posting up a trip report later on. Beautiful granite, but very few cracks. A good angle for slab routes.
Pscyhed on all the cool photos. Love the shots from Tenaya Canyon.

hey there say, all....
wow, i had the NEATEST pic of chappy leaning against a corner-rail of metal, it half-dome in the distnace, from aboum about 45? years AGO!!
we never knew the part yosemite would play in our life then:
his climbing and buddies...
lynday ballerini and her kids being my mom's grandkids...
and all the etc, as i once day got to bring my kids, there, as well...
all the way from south texas...
and now, all my new taco buddies...
sadly the picture disappeared... i found the first pic, but not the second with him... and after divorce, all the old negatives are gone, :(
got left behind and thrown out, :(
got another neat pic that perhaps i can share, if i can find it...
:)
thanks for the neat share...

I have some more recent nice ones, but my current uploading capability is messed up.
One of the standard summit shots:
From the top of Sentinel:
From the top of Higher Cathedral Rock:
Sunrise from the top of Lower Brother:
From a bitchin' spot on Via Aqua:
From somewhere on Yosemite Falls Trail:
Fading light on East Buttress of El Cap:
From a bivy on the East Ledges descent:
From Yosemite Point (or closer to the falls maybe):
From snowshoes on the John Muir Trail:
A winter jaunt near Mirror Lake:
There is a lot of rock in this picture:
Shortly after I proposed to my lady (we had the entire summit to ourselves):

Can any of our resident astronomy/math buffs calculate if that might actually be Mt. Clark's shadow, or if it's just an effect from the shape of Half Dome? Pic was taken 11/16/14 around 0715.

This shows the peaks of the Sierra Nevada from appr. Slide Mtn. on south to Tioga Pass.
Mt. Conness, I confess, is the only one that I have scaled.
This last shot appears to have been taken while over (approximate) Peregoy Meadow;
or maybe Bridal Veil CG, along the road to Glacier Point.
This series is owned by Jay, who was operating as Merced Tours but no longer.
These are the actual size of each of these prints.

The story behind that pic is that it was a planned bivy after climbing Snake Dike BITD (~ late 1970s). The objective was to embrace the cosmos while achieving an inner peace in unimaginable surroundings enhanced by edible magic fungi (aka shrooms). As the sun was setting, a hand-shaped ice cloud appeared that reflected the sun's rays exhibiting pastel colors (see photo below). The index finger of the ice cloud hand appeared to be pointing right at the summit of half dome. Naturally we assumed this was a signal to us that a close encounter of some kind was to take place that evening. Instead the clouds moved in, the wind picked up and we froze our asses off in those bivy sacks. We got up early the next morning and got the hell out of there.

Outstanding short video clip! The music really fits with it and adds a nice ambiance. It's also cool to see actual motion from the olden days, to see how people climbed, how they used casual belays when it got a little technical (but not too much).
It's more exposed feeling than it seems from pictures to be on the ridgeline of the diving board.
Edit: And thanks for appreciating my photos. They serve me well as mental vacations nowadays when I don't have as much time as I'd like for doing stuff like that.
