and if I continue along my current trajectory I'll be in Denver by May 1st which means the vedauwoo will happen in August.

First I have seen of the event.... I would really lile to come, but can't commit yet. If I go to Cochise, I will not be coming back to JT, so it would be "on my way" back east, and with a little bit more time in transit that I thought.
I have to say, though, that I am sort of in need of fresh experiences. Worried I will end up stuck in JT like has been known to happen to a few.

I'm gonna show up with a friend if I can get my pos truck out of colorado in one piece. Will it be held at the Isle of Ewe campground? I climbed there on the way out here and had a great time. Better be careful tho cuz there are customs and immigration tools everywhere on Middlemarch road and the main highway leaving The Stronghold towards Tombstone. They WILL be searching your vehicle with a dog.

E - sounds good. Let me know if it doesn't work out as my fish order depends on the funds available. it sucks when I order fish for guests that don't arrive and then i have to eat (pun intended!) the costs. I'll place my fish order next wednesday or possibly thursday.
Jim: are you familiar with the camp sites on the east side? the primitive ones that are on the west of the road right after you get into the stronghold. There are a number that are pretty big and flat. Guy and his posse may also be out there on friday.
S/E - sorry to hear you guys are out. After this one SushiFests are coming to a Wyoming or Colorado spot near... um... not you :-(

Guy: yes, same spot as last time. Not sure if you guys will make it before Jim Donini does. Either way he'll be heading for the same spot as well. Though if you look around in the area of that camp site there are a half dozen really nice sites. so it doesn't have to be the exact same spot.

Don't worry about that. They have been camping quite a bit but as most kids go they don't notice adults actions much unless there happens to be stuff they like, i.e. treats. Will be fun to see everyone. Weather looks to be good sat & sun. Not sure about Mon though.

I dont know Guy. No just heading out my wife and kids. Usually stay at our friends B&B in Bisbee but she is booked up this weekend. Only thing we have going on is to meet someone on the eastside at 10am on Saturday for a few hrs. Will probably stay until Tuesday. I guess we will crag unless my wife wants to partner up with someone and do a multipitch. I owe her since I have been taking multiple weekends to climb these last few months. I will be happy just to be in the Dragoons. And my kids love exploring there. We are planning on leaving right after work on Friday, but it is a long drive so we will arrive late.

Doug, I think I threw up in my mouth a little bit thinking of Keesee as an extremely fit older gentleman! With Donini there maybe he will see what it is to be fit later in life. Although I doubt it, I have been providing a perfect example for years. At least he is more fit then my grandfather.
Soulsurfer, there will be some people who smoke 'pipes' there. Are your kids ok with that? Are you ok with that?

it's not. it's just for a little variety. As this is a small event I can't do the hawaii order which is where the really good albacore (Tombo) comes from. The albacore we're getting is a frozen product and it's ok but not good enough to be a main course. their yellowtail is always really good.
I'm also going to get some albacore from trader joes. it's a lot less expensive and I'll be searing it and using my tataki sauce on it.
the above order was placed about 20 minutes ago. It arrives tomorrow. poor me, I have to do the taste test thing tomorrow night.
really too bad about the uni though.... not sure what to use the quail eggs for.

You guys are fine. Thanks for asking though. My kids have been camping from day 1 so they have seen it all before. They are kids so they are not going to know what you are doing anyways. Plus they will be off playing.
Nature,
We will opt out of the Sushi since it is last minute. It will just be fun to meet some new climbers. This trip will be some business, some fun. We always seem to do the Red Rocks, Bishop, Joshua Tree, Cochise trips with local friends, but it's always fun to meet other climbers from around the country.

Doug.... we have a giant Asian Mega Food store about 6 blocks from Jans home. There sushi fish is expensive but they do have Mackrel in the sealed plastic as well as other stuff. I have time to stop by if you need anything? Different kind of Roe? Urchin? They have it, in the small wooden boxes.

I really don't need anything.
but if you want Mackrel then get a package. It's way to fishy for my tastes and my skills are not that of Hajime who had a way to make even that fish taste yummy. He did the same with Nato. And with Nato I just make it look like I'm serving you boogers (which is about what it tastes like anyways)

I get the fish tomorrow before noon.
I teach my last yoga class in Tucson at 9:15AM saturday morning.
my truck will be packed with fish and I will leave for Cochise from there. I should be at camp by 1PM. After a quick set up I'll begin food prep so when you midgits get back from the crag you can eat and eat and eat. oh... and drink.

I just ran into the Doninis in the East stronghold and heard about this week-ends Sushifest. I have a group of 3 that would love to join in on the party- how do we get signed up? The group would be John Markel, Gray & Eloise Thompson and we we are already entrenched at the east stronghold. Also I have a 20' Mountainhardware Spacestation Dome and a few folding catering tables that might be useful in the event that a group party shelter is needed. So if it is not too late please buy enough fish to include us

I almost forgot. I don't mind being referred to as one of the sick midgets, but that remark about mostly harmless I take major offense to. We got there early - staked out our fishing spot --- scared off all sensible humans --- even the large Texans keep their distance (we were forced to pile our gear on top of theirs at the Zappa wall) --- & we didn't leave till the fish tent was down & no chance of catching anymore Sardines left.
