I say the idea is nonsense.

This was discussed a month or so ago--splitting the forum. If I was swift on the search, I'd cite the thred here. Folks came down on both sides, for various reasons. My thinking (as someone recently noted) is that this is a Climbers forum, not specifically a Climbing forum. It's like we're sitting around the virtural campfire. Some folks are drinking beer, others coffee. Yeah, it's 7am, but shucks, we're all climbers and it's the communitiy that I'm interested in.

Is it really difficult to denote which threds are climbing related when you scroll through the topic headings?
It isn't for me.

Now a thred on the worst movie? I'll let that one pass off the first page.

Saw that thread. It is not a mutually exclusive thing. You can wander from one campfire to another, or not, as you like. Just you would have to be "in the know" to know where the climbing-topics-only campfire was.

I'm not sure, what do you think TG-

The conversation gets pretty dull around here at times, so why not spice it up a little bit? TradlsGood

To each their own. Personally, I like talking and arguing (debating) about different topics. As much as I'd like to be able to live and breathe climbing sometimes, there are other things in life. Anyway, there seems to be some intelligent people on this site, even if I don't agree with them.

So I'll pass.

Hootervillian - been thinking, but not doing, all week. Can't find anyone else who wants to take day off on a day with ideal weather. Still got 20%'ish chance on tmrw though.

I'm outta here!

I'm gonna go start a forum for climbers with guns to insult those without.

And how about one for old climbers to insult the young whippersnappers?

And maybe one to insult those sportclimber weenies....

Hey, quit picking on us short people. And screw you and your guns. Oh wait, I have one too. Well screw me then too.

Besides, I thought this site was about us old guys picking on young whipper snappers already.

I feel its neccesary to be the responsible one here and point out to Ben that guns and alcohol don't mix so always finish your drink before you pick up your gun.

Hauling up the Haul bag...Hmmm, maybe we could use you to space haul?

To space haul, You jug the fixed line...tie into the end of the haul line, then bail off. As you go down, the pig goes up!
Then you jug back up the line again.
Sounds fun right?

Edit: I know it's not a very good description...sorry.

BALSAC - I like it! Generally I agree wuth the no drinking and guns, but plinking at bowling pins with Browning Hi Powers and a Colt Gold Cup while sipping icy Tattinger champagne was such fun! And even better with a Montecristo cuban cigar!

Space hauling? Are y'all calling T*R fat. 'Cause you definitely have to out weigh the pig for that to work.

How big a pig do you HAUL?

Once again for Ben ; FINISH your drink before you pick up your gun.

The coolest thing about this forum is that you can sit down with a group of obviously intelligent individuals and talk about things more than simple climbing. I maintain a pretty strong presence in the dog forums, too, and no way does it ever go there. It's a shame. We all have a lot to learn from one anothers, and not always only climbing related.

Do we need a new topic to find out if folks want a "boobies" sub-forum? So far that topic has been a bit thin here. Other than crimpie's (artful) tease and the girl with the red hat, what would we put in it? Or would having one promote the concept?
