John and I had 16 months together. Each of those days we felt so blessed for having found our soul mate, after decades of searching.
Our time together on this physical plane was short, but our spirits never have been and never will be apart.
I feel so privileged for having been allowed to walk next to him.
I know that most of you out there, who were his friends and companions, feel the same way.
I would like to thank all of you, also on behalf of his father and brother, for the magnificent tributes you have paid him on this site. Your words keep him alive and dull the edge of our grief.
Each movement of gratitude is a perfect prayer. His spirit is flying free, thanks to all of you.
I am honored to know you all through your words.

Thank you, Paola. You, Tyrus, and John's family have the sympathies and shared sorrow of all John's friends, and everyone here. We're doing our best to share our memories of someone who was dear to us all. It's not much, but perhaps it helps.
I'm sure that everyone close to John has a lot to absorb right now, and a lot to do. And that there's a lot happening that isn't public yet, and that many are helping. But if there's anything any of us can do, just ask.

Paola, today I went to our little mountains near where I live to try and draw together the threads of reflection working with Mr. John Bachar over the past months. Not an easy task because your John was just kind of a complicated Dude. But today was necessary because you and his son and family need to hear the mechanics of some of his last year....how he was working out his life to fit yours. I believe you will appreciate how much he loved you all.
Hehehe, (first laugh in a Long time) I think you already know! :D
I'll post it all on Tyrus's Thread. Lynne

Paola, it's obvious from your post that John had met the right person - you - to share his life with. Thank you for giving him the joy of a mutually respectfull and deep love. May you draw strength from that love; enough to see you through each coming day.

hey there paola... oh my.... :(
i am very sorry for your deep loss...
your treasured time will still be yours, never to be taken away... may the love, and memories still be rich, over the years, but hurt less--though never lessened....
god bless...
may the good lord get you through this hard time...

Hi Paola, I'm sorry for your loss, the fact that you say the two were soul mates must make this all that much more difficult to deal with. One can go through many lifetimes searching for their soul mate, and here you finally find each other, and its taken away from you again. For this I have deep sorrow for the both of you, as its quite unfair. As you know, John had many good friends, and I was one of them, and this tragic incident has hit me hard, and I'm going to miss him heavily. By the way, we almost met last fall when you and John were in Courmayeur, at the last minute I had something come up and I couldn't make it over, we planned to meet the next day, but you two had to go down to Torino? or somewhere for a couple days. In the end we didn't manage to meet up, but John said no worries, I'll be back soon as you had a place in Courmayeur and the two of you would be coming and going through the years, and so we didn't worry much about not meeting up. I will write to your e-mail address so the next time you come back over, we can meet up.
With much sadness and sorrow- Craig Calonica

So, Paola.....you have been so much in my heart and mind today. Just thinking about the path you are walking and all the things of the heart you be feeling.
We are blessed women because we did know a soul mate... your John and my Dan. I have spoken with many women that never have had this blessing.
Sweet Gal, we bear with you the pain of your grief, but then there is that quiet time when it is just yours alone and it's that for what I pray.
Hard as it is....I think you may agree....better the pain of loss than the pain of never knowing such loss. Peace to you. lynne

It's September 18th 09. I just read of Mr Bachar's passing. I never met the man but he had a profound impact on my life. I first noticed him in the 1980's. I was a troubled kid with little direction. His attitude and bravery hit me like a ton of bricks. It was the example I needed. I some how managed to turn my life around buy finding a ''POSITIVE HERO'' in him. Several years later while standing frozen with fear on a popular dome route in the meadows. I had only brought one rope and had run out of courage to dare the next blank pitches when he came climbing past on a much harder route to my right. It was like seeing superman in the flesh. It was the inspiration I needed. I made it to the top hoping to thank him for all he had done for me but he was gone. Thank you Mr Bachar for the impression you made on a lost kid all those years ago. You are still a HREO to me. Bill
