The next bus to the next world has a bunch of our friends seated together. As soon as we have a little more info, let's get a thread started with the proper respect and attention and put our prayers, tributes and recollections there.
Peace

Rest in peace John, thank you so much for the legacy you have left, you touched so many people, some like myself without even a handshake.
My prayers are for you and your loved ones.
Deepest condolences,

Oh No.
Not Again.
Unbelievable.
This has to be one of the most impossible periods we've had around here.
Thanks John for all the sparks you made fly for so many of us for so many years.
My sincere sympathy to your family and all those old friends that you knew best.
You will resonate here forever.

oh man...an icon. Tragic. The coming response from the climbing world will no doubt bear testimony to his greatness. Wish I could have met him. True condolences to his family and those who knew him well.

That had to be one helluva stout route or a bad hold. And yet, we're only human after all.

Met john at the whizz domes with Dave Yerian and merry , around mid-eighties he never really said much to me and I was in awe watching him climb body and soul. Only later in Mammoth snowboarding did he seem to losen up and become more friendly. Glad I got to share some time with an icon and legend. RIP Bachar, you truley were the master. Paul Linaweaver

Layton spoke to him ten days ago; got a new pair of shoes. He is as stunned as I.
It gives one pause to reconsider everything.

Bachar and I had plans to climb this summer in the Meadows. He wanted to get his granite legs back underneath him.
The news is a punch in the heart. Another friend gone.
