Just Passing Thru joined us in July

I thought he might be the "political" wing of somebody who already posts here since he only posts politics, or a new incarnation of Jody, but why make assumptions? Not the same style as Jody anyway.

Since you pulled up at the campfire and seem to have found a seat, it looks like you're not Just Passing Thru and you might as well throw us a name or a bit of "how you found supertopo"

I figure anybody who is here long enough and posts more than couple dozen times should be welcomed and we can get to know the other dimensions of them better.

So welcome JPT. What's your story?

Welcome JPT!

Climb much?

Or mostly interested in slinging mud at your new president?

Age?

No need to be bitter about the election....

Hey JPT, if you don't climb but are interested in giving it a go, Karl is a damn fine guide from what I hear. I know at least 2 people personally who have climbed with him and they give him top-notch reviews.

And, he loves to discuss world events, so you could get a 2fer, ya know?

(I've met Karl, just never climbed with him, he's good people)

I guess I'm glad I only post frivolous nonsense and not political stuff that warrants an "official call-out".

"I thought it was supposedly impossible to post under more than one handle."

Why would you think that?

There are hundreds of handles on here.

Give JPT a break. We can always disagree with him on the threads where we do disagree with him.

We're always having to live with people we disagree with, so why not get to know them and see what common ground we have?

Peace

Welcome to you too bro.

I can say you have shared a fair amount of personal and climbing stuff here so we're getting to know you by osmosis. Sometimes you have to ask direct if a person doesn't post about themselves.

Peace

Not that I add shite to this forum, but I could do without the reptitive political crap posted by people who never say a thing about climbing. I don't care so much about posting in existing threads, but incessant thread starting by folks like JPT should lead to whacking.

I think excessive "whacking" is why so many such threads are started...

I grew up in Boulder and started climbing in 1985 at a church camp my mom made me go to. It was cool until I brought home my first nut and declared, “I’m going to start lead climbing.” My mom was so upset, that my father tried to force me to return the gear to the Boulder Army Store. I showed her-- don’t force me to attend silly Christian activities….

In 1990 I dropped out of high school to climb and go door-to-door for Green Peace Action. In 1991, my parents coaxed me into attending college with my peers, I failed my first Semester at Fort Lewis on their dime and I was cut off financially from that day forward.

Burned out on being a Boulder townie in 1994, I deciding to try a pizza deck gig in Curry. That was one of the best summers of my life. Did it three more times (without the job) Never stayed in Camp 4 once, I was a Curry dirtbag. But I saw many of you around, at the Deli, bouldering, in passing; I know my climbing history.

I spent four winters living in Cathedral Cove with the Owners of Uprising Climbing Gym and climbing at Josh 4 days a week. You remember--the climbing gym in Palm Springs that was originally to be named “Gym Bridwell”, with Jim B as a partner? Unfortunately Uprising was purchased by the neighboring water park a couple year back and they replaced one of the finest outdoor climbing walls with a hideously colored water slide….

Bailed on the desert and did a few years living in Santa Barbara and Santa Monica, climbing the classic crags of Southern California.

Now back in Colorado, I ski 14ers and clip bolts in Clear Creak Canyon.

I am a self-made man, I am not a Boulder Trust Fund Baby

I am John Galt.

That certainly sheds a little light on the subject. You start dumb threads and focus on dumb things because, well, you're dumb!

We all appreciate your honest and open response here, but you probably would have been better off keeping quiet.
