Hey all...
I recently finished a new song, called "Float", featuring a Utah musician/climber named Misty Murphy. Misty and I would love to share "Float", which is a tribute to Todd Skinner, as well as every other legend and hero who have moved on...
If you aren't familiar with Misty, visit her at www.mistymurphy.com. She has an amazing voice, and her music is incredible. We're currently working together on an entire project... pushing and pulling until we get it just right.
Also, we'll be performing the song together at the International Climbers Festival in Lander on Friday, July 11th.

As far as lyrics go... there are several of Skinners groundbreaking FA route names worked into the lyrics as well...

Thanks Brother Obub, for sharing and for heart.
I was just thinking and speaking of Todd yesterday as we climbed on middle and I told some stories of the Salathe.
The track has a great spirit, really well produced and the whole inspiration is well supported by Misty's ethereal voice and your lyrics.

Really nice, Odub! I don't know it you ever got to meet Todd, but he really would have got a kick out of it. That last comment about the wide grin, is spot on, Todd had one of the widest grins ever.
The song is going into my regular rotation post haste.

I heard from Amy a few weeks ago after emailing the song to several friends. I've also recently heard from Todds neice, Becca. They both sent me very nice emails, and I look forward to meeting them, though performing this song for the Lander crowd already makes me nervous...

Excellent! When I first listened to it, I thought I heard about a half a dozen Skinner route names. I am sure Todd would be stoked. He would also have some funny comment about the irony of a rapper from Cincy writing a tribute to a cowboy from Wyoming. Would have been a classic Skinner moment.

I'll be trying my hand at some Cowboy Poetry while on stage in Lander. I'm gonna use Wild Iris route names to put it together... those guys made it easy with all the colorful names!
