I have been talking to a lot of people who have mentioned that they have been buildering. So interested and ready for adventure, my best friend and I set out to climb some buildings. I was convinced that the hardest part would be not to get arrested or at least questioned by the police. But it turns out that the hardest thing is finding somewhere to go that is quality. After trying a couple base ball cages, cruddy brick work buildings and about ready to give up, we found Walmart. Thank goodness! It was the biggest traverse I've ever done but it was a lot of fun. We for sure got wierd looks but it was so worth it.

Any one else got pictures?/ Stories about buildering?

I buildered in downtown Oakland, untill I almost got shot for it..

I got mostly people thinking I was trying to break into the buliding, I usually told them to f*#k off..

It's sort of B.C./Canada oriented, but you could look at http://www.buildering.net/

If you can get a copy of "Night Climbers of Cambridge", you'll get an idea of the roots of buildering.

The authorities and public tend to frown upon buildering, not to mention the owners. This needs to be factored into your plans, although young women buildering in a Wyoming town may not have quite the same issues as 20 something males in Oakland.

I only have done it a few times. It involved drinking, a really nice brick wall near my friend's bar, plus I completely forgotten that I was wearing heels and a mini skirt.
Luckily I also have big friends that make it their job to catch falling drunk Greek girls.

University of Wyoming is one of the best buildering campuses anywhere; Handcracks, fistcracks, four foot roof problems, and miles of Casper formation crimp traverses.

Hehe, good stuff Clint.

Saw that Lamiche bouldered on the Nickajack Bridge in UC a couple issues ago...parks and (aforementioned) colleges are usually best. Private domains tend to think yer a catburglar in my experience...

Buildering was a bonafide past time in the dark ages before plastic. Note the mis-matched tube socks for era.

A great tradition to keep. Beer, and buildering are always a great addition to any education.
