Hey, Can anyone identify the unknowns in these 5 photos from 1975? And is it Stonemasters or Stone Masters?

You can find the photos at:
Stonemasters Photos

BTW I got these from a old friend, Jay Fiske, does anyone know what happened to him?

Thanks

Yes thanks, that one is Terri Goodikonts (SP?) and Ricahrd Harrison.

What about the guy with the big black mustache and blue shirt around his waist?

Last time I saw Jay was in Sonora in 77 and he was in a bad way, I think from Vietnam and he had jaundice? He was a funny, good guy, many fun time is the MRB.

These are a great diversion on a Saturday afternoon... thanks for posting CF. I loved the ambiance of them all, and was particularly amused by Largo on the backboard and the hearse climber car (so Six Feet Under before there was a Six Feet Under)... classic!

That Dave Bengston on Danglefest photo.... back when I was a n00b and just learning I was very fortunate to have had Dave as a teacher. I was peppering him with my n00b questions and asked if that John Long "Climbing Anchors" book was any good. He said something to the effect that, "It had better be, I'm on the back cover!" That was the Danglefest photo.

I have this photo on my wall thanks to Chris F.

The unknowns’ are… Ray Ochoa, and yes, Terry G. and that’s Richard Harrison behind Bridwell.

I remember that was a great party!

Terry has been the known unknown in this photo for decades. I went to high school with Terry and I'm looking at my Pomona High School class of 1969 year book right now to confirm once and for all the spelling of his name - Terry Goodykoontz.

I'm too young to recognize any of them.

But, I did like browsing through the rest of the photos at the yosemitestock website. The early Excalibur rack was especially amusing. And the shots of the Bachar-Yerian especially gripping.

That Excaliber must be wide...

Indeed.

Wider than #6 Friends and Camalots. And too hard to free climb.

is Terry related to Frank Goodykoontz? I was into running 5ks and 10ks quite a bit in the eighties, and used to see a Frank Goodykoontz at these races. I know Frank was from the Covina area. He also had a daughter or niece that was the female winner of either the Mt. Wilson or Mt. Baldy trail runs in the late eighties/early nineties.

CF, same here, last time I saw Jay Fiske was up in Sonora or thereabouts (Columbia, 1977), and he was in a bad way.

Hope he is still with us but if not, RIP Jay. I do recall hearing something about his passing away but I am not 100% certain on that.

EDIT
I didn't realise that CF stood for Chris Falkenstein. Howdy Chris, it's been a long, long time since Cedar Ridge, Crystal Falls and the area.

CF- great images. Just curious though.. in image oldclimb_787.jpg Both Kevin Worrall and ? are playing guitar Lefty. Strikes me as unusual, is the image flipped?

Chris,
Thanks for posting those.

I have no idea why everyone had gathered that day. Anyone
remember?

What I do recall is an impromptu demonstration of what a remarkable athlete John Long was.

We were all standing around, just chatting. Suddenly, and without warning, John sprints toward the the basketball backboard, puts one foot against the wall and jumps into an undercling, as shown in the photo. He hangs there a for a few seconds and jumps off. I was awestruck. He made it look so smooth and effortless, and he did the first time he tried it.
