Heh, until I saw how the rope was hanging and realized the picture was tilted I was thinking "Holy crap, that slab's no joke! Lookit the kid go!"
Anyway, awesome trip report, looks like the young'n had fun and is getting started in life on the right track :) Wish I'd gotten started young...

That's awesome!! I wish I had been started earlier too...and started with a good easy climb. Unfortunately my first climb was my uncle "Lucky" tying a swami around my 11 year old waist and sending me up an offwidth/squeeze. I didn't make it five feet. After I resigned in defeat, he cleaned the TR anchor by soloing the route in his tevas. Ahhh, the good ol' days.

It was Fantasia. Yeah right.
Yes it was left of Pop bottle. Everytime I'd walk off something in the past year, I'd think "I've got to get my boy up here".
The wife and boy are down at Grandma's over's Dad's day, so I might just head to the Valley.

Very cool! Proud for Pappa and the young leader.
The Leap is such a great place. Kind of reminds me of surfing at Steamer's Lane in Santa Cruz. The futher in/left you go the gentler/smaller the rollers.

I tried to get him to wear his helmet, but he said "F*ck that, I'm old school. Besides all those nOOb rock climbing helmets do is protect you from rockfall and I don't plan on anyone passing me."
To which I replied "You've got to stop reading Supertaco."
