"Nice to see the Mexican flag flying. I was trying to imagine pulling out an American flag and waving it around. The thought struck to be as ridiculous and disrespectful to say the least."
Thank you for that moment of reason. I have been trying to get people to see that we don't need Mexican flags on our soil. On another note, that pic of El Toro is incredible! Why are there no routes on it? I do believe I will invade Mexico next. We need their oil and we need that wall for ourselves. Those bums down there are letting good rock go to waste.

Radical: Great TR and photos. I've not been there in about five years, but still remember several climbs clearly. One of my favorites was Aspire on one of the spires. And the outrage wall - crazy! Thanks.

All of that and there are like 500+ routes of varying heights and difficulties. More being put up every day by Dane Bass and the El P.K.
PLUS: there's an 8-pool(natural spring water)swimming complex in the summer and night climbing too by the new soccer stadium lights. Horseback riding and special tours to nearby Hot Springs and other sights available too.
If you're interested in shuttling down from Austin, San Antonio, Laredo or Monterrey or joining an Adventure Program with dedicated activities please drop me an e-mail at kitakat11@hotmail.com.
Don't forget the full featured new guidebook by Dane Bass due out on November 1, just in time for the peak climbing season. Email me and I'll put you on the advanced copy list!
Peace,
:-)

Nice! We need more climbing photos around this place. And more of that hottie, please, if you have any. 864 pixels is a little wide, but I guess it works if you just slide the bar across the bottom a bit.

Great report nice Photos I went for 5 days a year ago last Febuary. I'm certainly going to go back again. The climbing and the enviroment was killer, reminds me of Josh high desert but the climbing is better.

those are sweet pics and make me miss the place too. i see from that last pic that the pavilion has a new roof, as it no longer has that huge hole, from when some block came off the top of spaceboys. it had a hole in the roof, and even the cement floor below, for years.
my first trip down in 95 or 96, we had a hard time finding the place, and driving in mex was an adventure. there was only a sketchy hand drawn map and topo at the old gym in austin, pseudo rock (hank's old gym). we found homero's house, la quinta de graciela, but there was absolutely no one there. that was before kurt lived there, and even before ed and tami settled in.

Doesn't that place have deadly scorpions and killer spiders in every other handhold? How many climbers get stung or bit by these things each day? Isn't that the cemetary where they bury all of the climbers killed by these horrific creatures? I've heard it's like all of Australia's poisonous and deadly animals distilled down into a more potent cocktail of living death and then released into the canyons and onto the walls of Potrero Chico.
At least that's what the Mexican Tourist Bureau told me. Oh, and they also said, "Have fun."
