I saw these guys in the State Theater in Arlington VA.
The most amazing Dead cover show ever. The music is great, the crowd is right. These guys can melt it down.
Anybody interested, check for a show coming near you soon!
Scroll down and see dates for CO, ID, MT, WA, OR, CA

Jaybro,
You won't regret it man.
They melt tunes together like the boys, the lead player has his Jerry sound and licks down, it's a d*mn good show.
They were rumbling along through Space and I looked at my wife and jokingly said "If they knew I was here and loved me, they would go into The Wheel right now."
45 seconds later they were in it, I sh*t you not!

I've never seen them myself, but a respected musician here on the coast says they play old Dead shows note-for-note and are spectacularly good at it...if you like that sort of flashback thing. Kind of interesting concept.
Enjoy,
Tomo

From the stage, the lead guitarist, addressed that very point.
He said they reproduce the setlist from a given date. They don't even shoot for note for note reproduction. He said that it would take waaay too much work, and take away their own creative vibe.
I had heard that too, but he put it to bed.

learning note-for-note a jam session of an hour or more would be a horrendous amount of work, and not seeming in the same spirit of one who enjoys that type of music. It's much more practical to learn the songs, learn the style, and then cut loose and let your own musicianship shine through as you speak with an instrument as you would with your mouth. That's fun, and that creates energy. And that's what I think people mostly want to see. Unless they are a critic looking to analyze the joy out of an inherently good thing.
Edit: Anyone going to do a link-up with one of their shows and then tick Temple Crag?
