no worries lynne...

deadlines don't work. Tried that.

Guido is expensive these days so the whole strong-arming technique is out.

Essentially it comes down to me having to prod people a little bit. most of them are my friends and respect my efforts so it's not that big of a deal. But if I sit back and say nothing I just let myself get a little irritated so I'd rather be a little irritating.

And basically if you've been to a sushifest then I know your are good for it and you name goes on the list. If someone decides they won't be there they tell me. If you've never been and don't make arrangements with me I don't put your name on the list. So in that way the folks on the list are the ones I know I can count on.

So it's all good. Well... except for the Reverend PeganMonkeyBoy.... that guy is getting a hit put out on him!

Here is some news, though no surprise. They are doing road construction on Southside Drive from Yellow Pines to Sentinel Bridge and that section will be closed.

This means you can drive the first section of Southside Drive with the other traffic. When the other traffic crosses over to Northside Drive at El Cap crossover you can continue on Southside Drive to Yellow Pines. To get out you drive back to El Cap crossover rejoining regular traffic. The biggest inconvenience will be returning after driving to the Village. To get back you will have to drive back to Pohono Bridge to get back on Southside Drive. A good reason to bring a bike and headlamp. Might even be quicker to walk.

Thanks, Ken! Does Tom Evans know about what's going to be happening on his bridge over the next month? I'd guess all the traffic won't help with his photography, not to mention the "scene" there.

Seems a bit odd that one won't be able to just drive west to El Cap bridge, then cross over and drive east to Yellow Pine. I guess the traffic management is all planned, though.

Edit/add: It's about 30 minutes walk from Camp 4 to Yellow Pine, via the swinging bridge. Probably a bit more to walk from Yellow Pine to the Village, via Sentinel Bridge. About 1/3 that time on bicycle, though good lights STRONGLY recommended for night time riding.

I'd say I was chicken but that would cast apersions on our great leader.

So, let's just say I'm having second and third thoughts. Meeting so many new peeps all at once....Now with road construction and I don't know where I'm going anyway.

If and when I finally find "the yellow pine" off the yellow brick road and begin to set up camp #46 will say look at that rookie, let's go say hi. Yikessss ! And I was worried about a cot.

The only thing I know I can do is eat Sushi and pick up trash and drink fattrad's wine....and of course climb somewhat.

don't worry Lynne, you can choose just how social you want to be, and if all you do is pickup trash, well, that's ok too...

It's a very low key gathering, just a bunch of climbers, some old, some new, some in between. And it is a very good cause.

But what ever nth thought you have, we'll all understand your choice.

Thanks guys and Anastasia... I'm going..it's just that logistics are what I'm working thru now and anyone on the Time thread can attest I am somewhat challenged in that field. But if I can find my way around Europe by myself I'll do ok. It's just all this living shee I have to pack and use.

Thanks as usual for your (im)moral support, hehe Lynne

ps Pepper, think I need to do this, but thanks SO much for the offer!

Thanks, great Ken ! All my info was lost when my email blew up.
I'll be sure and make a copy of this one. If I have a map I'm fine. Elcaponieze, I know I miss spelled, also emailed me places for showers and electrical outlets. If you're out there maybe you could resend.

Then I'm fine.

Nature, I sent you my check you should have it by end of this week.

Ok, doing good again. Maps and info make all the difference.

Thanks, Lynnie

Lynne - You should have no problem getting out there and mingling. You sound like you are trying to take away all my excuses. I'm running short, but you can keep those.

From what I remember of last years... Yellow pines was basically pact with bodies all over the place, just throw down a pad on some pine bristles, at least that's what I saw plenty of.

If you need to, find me....

Jingy, thanks ! i really want to meet everybody, but I'm not very great at going up to people saying, Hi I'm Lynne... maybe you can help in that department. YOU can say, Hi I'm Lynne....that for sure will break the ice...major giggles.

t*r, don't throw down on pine needles at least use my campsite in yellow pine. I'm in A on 21st and B til 28 and back to A on 29. I'm gonna have my climbing family join me for a few days but they're cool and you'll like them. I'll have my own tent. Bring yours and we'll have a blast. At least you have a place to land til you get the place scoped out gal. Lynners Oh, yeah, don't take this wrong, hehe, xoxoxo from a newer ST, but an ST all the same.

Ps Ken said my site was on the largish side.

I'm not sure when I will get there lynnie, but I will say hi! I'll be the painfully shy old guy who doesn't say much, (sometimes not quite enough) been known to look like this;

it will be a gas.
