I did more of my share of that. . .
But as I told eKat in the Awhannee dinner thread, I'm taking
3 classes fall semester and I won't have time to breathe, much less anything else. . .
Oh how it hurts. You just gotta get pix!!!!

Read ahead and get to the facelift. Let the prof know you'll be out of town for this important business event and will unfortunately miss the lectures on those days. Voila - you are at the facelift!

SteveW...bring your homework to FaceLift...we promise to help you finish it! ;-)
Phil...come to where the sunshine is...come to FaceLift Country. When's the last time you hung out with friendly Cali climbers in the Valley of Monoliths and Cali catz? Hmmm?
(BTW--great work! I'm a bit behind with my deal, but should finish up tomorrow.)

You're just too kind--and the kitty--oops, panther, outfit. . .
I sure hope someone takes lots of pictures. I'm reeling right now, couldn't make it to the pickynick (bummer, big time), and
I just can't get through this chapter. . .
Lab & Exam by Saturday. . .
Wish me luck. . .
And eat plenty of that Nature boy's sushi. . .
Dern, I miss (lots) of the fun, 'specially the biggest event
of the year. . . whimper, whimper, snurf snurf. . .

The dust has settled and the picnic is over. It was a great time! Here are some photos. Blurry ones mostly since I took them. It's a gift. :)
Raydog and Snakefoot admiring the sunset:
Enough of that seriousness!

I look forward to seeing the other photos since I missed getting shots of many people...

So, the question that no one else dares ask:
What is Chiloe's real name? And is he another of the "Loe" brothers or cousins or something?
ps Looks like you guys had a lot of fun, and got home in time to post reports for us less (time) advanced people on the coast.

What great photos...what a great group of people.
Tar--You need to name names in that group shot around the picnic table...the one after Larry's solo photo.
Those "dashing profiles looking into the sunset" shots of the guys cracked me up...

SpartacusFest was a blast. Even had a picture postcard Rocky Mountain sunset. Sorta made me feel all John Denver inside. There were a few notable no-shows. Iin particular the Cozmic Bandito's guitars were conspicuously absent. In fact I don't think they really play guitars. They were probably just schmoozin' my musical soft spot to get a car. They did threaten to have a jam session at their campsite in RMNP to attone for this serious breach of etiquite. None the less it was a wonderful gathering of SuperTopo SuperFolks.
For me it was a real treat to finally meet Chiloe. In my formative years as an expanding climber Larry was a hero of mine. His story of the first ascent of the Aeolian Wall captured my imagination and led me to Red Rock Vegas shortly after it appeared in Ascent magazine. I hope I didn't annoy him to much by beeing a fawning groupie. He is a mellow, humble, down to earth legend. Thanx Tarbuster for once again being the catalyst for another awesome get together. You are the greatest.

Sorry I missed this too. Would have been nice to finally meet you Larry after virtually seeing you around for years and then trying to climb your alpine routes. :-)

Crimpy,
Don't lie about everyone having a good time. You and Larry probably talked STATISTICS all day, you freaks!
Wished I could have been there. Really, really wished I could have been there! Not for the stats but for everything else.
