"Did I mention that paganmonkeyboy is a minister?"

He oughta get on TV. He'd be lots more fun than Billy Graham or Pat Robertson.

Sincerely wish I could make it but for some reason the cards aren't letting me near the valley for the last 2.5 years ( longest span since pre77) Life is weird. I'm already drooling for a Nature roll at Halloween and am counting the days.

Doug, I'll send you some money as soon as I can - just back.

I talked with Jesse McGahey (ranger) in Tuolumne, and it sounds like he's interested. Perhaps other Yosemite residents.

Now that I'm back, I'll try to do some organizing, at least figure out who says they'll attend, and so on.

I'm comin'. Nature, I may be interested in the sushi, you dirty hippy. I'm tryin' to figure out logistics. I gotta e-mail Ken I guess. What;s the current count on spots taken/available? My wife and dog will attend, but I'm gonna need a climbing partner for leads/belays. None of my buddies can make it.....

Just got back from a six day trip to the East Side and Tuolumne.

Jingy/Blue - OK let me know as funds would help.

Speaking of funding I spoke with Jesse the climbing ranger in Yosemite and he told me that he might be able to get me some funds from the park for the sushi and reduce the cost to everyone. I will stick with the $30/person for now and if that comes through I'll give you a refund at the fest. Jesse is really excited about the sushi.

He also has one major concern which is drinking and driving from the Sushi in Yellow Pines to your camp. As he'll be on-scene and "working" he said he'd let the other rangers know he has the scene under control. But he also pointed out that if anyone gets busted for DUI or the like it'd shut us down for good. We will make a point to ensure this doesn't happen.

Bluering - what do you plan to do with your pup? I might have to bring mine as well and am trying to figure out who to bribe to watch her while I climb or clean up.

Nature, If it does not interfere with my facelift duties, I will volunteer for a pet sit shift-while you climb. n.t.

edit: If you have a pitbull.... sorry- no way.

If I do come I'll probably leave the pup at home now that I think about it. Yosemite just isn't pup-friendly like Tuolumne.

Nature, I'll probably not do the sushi thing, only because it's still up in the air if I'm going or not...I'll know more real soon.

Bump. Though sushi on the 25th is all full up, there may be dribs and drabs over the following days. But you can still come to the BBQ, also on Tuesday night (25th) at Yellow Pines.

I'm going to have enough food with me to feed 80-100 people sushi. Who knows... Thursday might turn into another big sushi night. It wouldn't bother me. The 20 lb fillet of Big *must* be eaten.

bump... with directions to the sushi:

Yellow Pines is about a mile and a half and the second left past El Cap
turnaround on Southside Drive. There is a small sign that will say
Sentinel Beach and Yellow Pines. It is just before the Four Mile Trail
so you need to watch carefully because if you miss it you will have to
drive back around the short one-way loop. Do you mind posting the
directions on Supertopo for me? I am running out of time.

So it's the 25th and I went with a friend to the location nature describes above, labeled Yellow Pine and everything, it's going from dusk to dark and NOBODY is around. Not one car.

so I go to Camp 4 and look for a note to see if anything is moved. No note.

So what gives. Yellow Pine is not a group camp but it is located according to the directions above. I have to say I'm disappointed having driven a couple hours for nothing but maybe I'm missing something?

Peace

Karl
