I've always thought it would be fun to print out a reading list like this, and then cut the list up into fortune cookie-sized slips of paper. Then, fold up the slips of paper and dump all of the titles and authors into a big fishbowl, and randomly choose a book to read!

Perhaps now that the wet dark months are upon most of us, we should form a SuperTopo book club. Everyone involved suggests one book, we choose one at random, then a few weeks later discuss same.

On second thought, we may not be that organized. But it might be fun.

TK,
damn I miss Earl.
Canyon Country Climbs was, if mildly erroneus, nonetheless a thing of beauty.
Its too bad the Utah State Parks authorities used the "He didn't make it" story as an excuse to ban climbing on DHP (unless you're a film company placing bolt on holds or stringing out a Cruised Kauk).

I have an awesome photo of Earl on D1 taken on 7/8/74 that I should dig out.

If you are going to mix them up in a fish bowl, then why alphabetize them.

You don't have to answer that!

Just finished "Undaunted Courage" by S. Ambrose. Good stuff. Also a biography of William Clark. There's a couple out there. Also working on "Across the Wide Missouri" by Bernard DeVoto, which has gotten me down to the bookstore often. Now I have three biographies to work on. John Coulter, Jedediah Smith and Joe Meeks. I am fascinated with this period in our history. Makes me wanna do more road trips in the western mountains. Maps. I read a lot of maps.

Try some Faulkner if you're smart enough.
