The Upsidedownguy is artwork on back only. There is no artwork on the front.

The DOLT shirt has the logo on the front only and no artwork on the back.

You are destroying the career of your future model with the "Dolt" shirts.

Maybe try "Do lt" on the shirt.

Then when you get sued by Nike...

There is no such thing as bad publicity.

I received my Upside-down Man T-shirts the other day – got three of ‘em. Thanks!

Sorry about the poor (shady) photo quality…

Black, white, ‘93/’94-era A5 tank, and red

The black one is my favorite and the white ink looks really cool on black – like the graphic is framed. Nice!

The graphic seems to be the same as my A5 tank, except for the hammer, which is different. Maybe this was just an upgrade from back in the A5 days?

Although the printing job looks good and the graphic is way cool, I am disappointed (what else is new…). These shirts were advertised as “typical men’s and women’s sizes” but I have found them to be in Turkish Tree Hugger sizes. The XL shirts are much smaller than a typical (Hanes, etc.) XL T-shirt and I have not washed them yet. They feel tight in the shoulders and are narrower than a standard/typical T-shirt. The material is much thinner than a typical T-shirt, which means that they will wear out faster and not last as long. I took off the shirt that I was wearing (washed but obviously not recently) to compare the two.

Turkish Tree Hugger size XL and typical Hanes XL – note difference in width.

If I wash these things, they probably won’t fit. XXL is for very round people… I was expecting a “typical” T-shirt. Why not Hanes, etc.?

That's odd on the sizing. I've got three different prints using the same shirt all are large and they are pretty standard.

The material is softer and thinner because it's organic cotton. Why not Hanes? Because it's not organic cotton and cotton that isn't organic sucks ass.

I too am a little disappointed with the sizing. In a warm water wash they tightened up some, maybe quarter inch. hard to say.

The 'hand' of the cloth is sublime though. Whole reason I got them.

nature, the origin of the cotton won't have any effect on the thickness of the shirt, that's up to the shirt manufacturing. Thicker organic will be available as well - cheaper T-shirts are thinner.

(Typed before Greg posted…)

Doug, I realize that Hanes shirts are not made of organic cotton. If organic cotton shirts were inherently thinner, then the logical conclusion would be that it is the organic cotton that sucks ass. But that doesn’t appear to be the case because I have an “Alex Lowe Friend” T-shirt that Theron gave to me and it is 100% organic cotton but is THICK and is actually an XL, even after it was washed. I think these thin T-shirts would be better suited for a wet T-shirt contest!

Oh, and the Sushifest shirts are super-thin too. I was really tempted to take a Sharpie to mine, take a pic, and then post it on your Al Franken thread… But I didn’t.

I wasn't suggesting that the organic VS not organic cotton made a difference in the thickness. I have a long sleeve from many years back that is thick. I feel the sushi fest shirts and BAT shirts are normal thickness. The upside down guy are thin. But they are soft and very comfortable. I wouldn't climb in them though.

But what I was saying is that non-organic cotton is a f-d up industry and sucks.

It's too bad on the sizing. Seems like the sushifest shirts are "normal" sizing, yeah?

No, Sushifest T is narrower than Alex Lowe T (by about 2 inches per side; both washed and never worn). Sushifest T is closer to Upside-down Man T in size…

Edit: Alex Lowe T material is thicker than Sushifest T material...

Well, I have more comments that I was going to email to Vershke but after clicking on the same link that I clicked on to order the shirts, I found that the website has changed and I couldn’t even find the shirts on the site. So, if I can’t find the comment window on the site, I will comment here.

The three shirts came in a Priority Mail box and that was it – no invoice, plastic bag or anything to protect them. This isn’t too much of a concern this time of year but in wetter weather, the shirts need to be put into a plastic bag. It would also look better when the customer opens the package.

Why did I pay for Priority Mail (took 2 days to get here…) when the order sat for two weeks before shipping? Are these shirts made per order? Not a big deal and no rush, but I am wondering…

As far as the Upside-down Man graphic goes, there are a few extras - two dots below the hammer and one dot in the open area to the left of the climber’s head. These dots are not on my A5 shirt. Also, there is a line segment on the left border of the shirt that looks like it didn’t get trimmed (next to the belayer).

Just my super-picky observations, but for something that is advertised as “the very best of the very best” and “the créme de la crème”, I expect more. Please don’t take it personally.

Sorry not to respond sooner to these last few posts. Please note, the following is NOT intended to be harsh or a criticism in any way. If it does off that way, I do apologize... I am tired from a 3,500 mile drive in four days followed by a night guiding trip on Mt. Hood followed by an overall crappy week.

First, there is NO difference in weight based on how the cotton is sourced. In other words, 165 g/4.95 oz 100% organic combed cotton will have the same weight as a 165 g/4.95 oz non-organic combed cotton. There are, however, different weights of shirts. For instance, the men's shirts I use are 4.95 oz but the women's version is 6.0 oz. Some stores use a super-thin shirt that is close to 2.9 oz and others will use a sweat-inducing 7.5 oz.

Now, there is a difference in the "feel" of different cottons. This is called the "hand" of the fabric. This deals more with the thread count and not the weight of the fabric. If you have ever slept on 450 count Egyptian cotton sheets and then spent the night in a Motel 6 with their sub-200 count sheets you know what I am talking about. If not, ask your wife (or a gay friend); one feels sexy and soft, the other will scratch you worse than a Gritstone crack in ate July.

Regarding size... perhaps I should have been more specific, and for that I do apologize. When I stated, "Available in the typical men's and women's sizes" I meant Small/Medium/Large/XL. I suppose I should have included the text from my original YCA/Hollow Flake post where I stated, Please note! The shirts are a “fitted cut” so if you like your shirts loose, order the next size up. If you have a killer bod and assets worthy of display then stick with your usual size. If you spend your days munchin’ on snacks and Macs then get on a different board!

My wife and I just pulled out every brand of shirt I own and compared sizing. While it is true the organic blanks I am using run about .75" narrow from shoulder-seam to shoulder seam (size large) I also found that my collection of (size L) shirts from Anvil, Hanes, and four other companies ran the gamut of .75" - 2.5" inches wider in the same dimension!

Overall your recent posts have been an educational experience in fully explaining the dimensions and fit of the shirts. I will be sure to explain in greater detail the fit and feel of the shirts from his point forward so there is no confusion.

I do hope all of you who have purchased shirts are pleased and that any fitting issues are not severe enough to cause you to abandon the shirts and go topless.

One more post to address Minerals further comments...

1. Shirts should be easy to find at http://www.shop.vershke.com This may be different than the first link since I am improving each and every day which means changes occur. The actual page link is called "World's Coolest Climbing Shirts."

2. From that page you should be able to find a link at the top entitled, "Scream At Us" which will allow you to send a message to us. If you prefer, you can write me through ST or direct at simon(at)vershke(dot)com

3. You raise a valid point regarding protecting the shirts from the elements. Something I will address in future shipments. I do strongly believe that plastic bags will be the death of this planet. Did you know that society's plastic bag consumption rate is now estimated at well over 500,000,000,000 (that's 500 billion) plastic bags annually, or almost 1 million per minute. I no longer use them at stores but I do understand I need to find a way to ship products. I promise to look into the matter.

4. The invoice was included as an e-mail receipt. Do I need to include another price of paper in the box? Perhaps... I will try to find a way to do this without undue paper waste.

5. I ship everything Priority Mail since I feel good about service quality of the USPS and I can keep the pricing fair. Your order did not sit... I am just trying to do too many things at once. This has been addressed as of last night and future shipments will experience a far quicker turn-around time. It didn't help I had a bad batch of printing followed by a rush order for the Autry Museum... Anyway, your valid comment has been noted and it has been addressed.

6. I don't have any comments regarding an extra dot or two... I am working from a very high-res of the original artwork. I didn't add any dots, didn't change the hammer design, etc. I just looked at the artwork and noticed the line you mentioned. Again, it is on the original high-res .TIFF but I agree it should be removed. I will see to it that it happens.

7. I want everyone to be happy and I do appreciate your comments.I am trying to make better-than-average products with superior customer service. As with any business (or life, for that matter) it is always a learning experience and issues will arise. If you feel strongly enough about the quality or service, please contact me directly and I will address your concerns.

My opinion is that the shirts have have - 3 large shirts - are the same size as every other large in my closet.

I don't even noticed the fitted part and I got the goods to show but it don't. Maybe I should try medium.
