The cabin fever got to the point that a little leg-stretching was in order.
Looming above our love nest in Wasilla was Pioneer Pk...

so an alpine start was in order...(this isn't Pioneer Pk)

Daylight revealed the upper Matanuska River valley...

OK, so it wasn't a total walk...

A look into the inner sanctum aka the Inner Chugach. There's a few things
left to do there...

Looking north to the Mac Daddy you can just see Sarah waving from her crack house...

Sarah can see Russia but I can see the Mac Daddy...(Foraker to the left)

A long day...

Nice shots! Pioneer's on my list. In that inner sanctum photo what's that peak in the middle background, left face in the shade, right in sun? Nice ridges there!

Very cool, I went to a wedding in Wassila at the Fair Grounds this summer and we had Pioneer Peak as a back drop to look at during the service.

Gnarly detail, L? You mean like how Oh Dark Thirty I got up?

"How dark was it, Johnny?"

"Way!"

Or did you mean the cornice tip-toeing? I've always had a soft spot for ballet.

I haven't done the walk up the east ridge, but have been on the north face. I took a 100' + fall while simul climbing, the 8.1 rope got wrapped up around me, went past my partner over an ice step. The only piece between us was a single specter in some questionable rock. We bailed.
