Pride is not virtuous... but here goes nothing.
Today my wife gave birth to a son, James. My wife is my hero.
He was born at 5:08PM and weighed 8 lbs. 15oz. Note today's date.
My daughter was born on February 26, 2001.
Note that date.
My son was born on the 4th anniversary of the destruction of the WTC.
My daughter was born on the 8th anniversary of the first attack on the WTC.
What are the odds of this occuring? As these are my only 2 children...
What I take from this instead of grieving on these days of death and suffering, is an utter rejoicing of life and love.
Sadness and joy shall always coexist...
You cannot have one without the other...
THIS is the cycle of life.

Take some advice from an old fool who learned the hard way.
When you look at those precious gifts and find reason to criticize, back off and search hard for reasons to encourage.
