Decent shoe selection for an all day, all around trad shoe?

Are you asking a question?

They are now closed on Tuesday/Wednesday, so actually not a bad place to ask! Bruce up there should help you out, I believe they have the usual run - should have mythos, anasazi's (all kinds), and a few others, but the store sells to Tahquitz and Suicide climbers, so you can bet they will have all day trad shoes :D

Tell them Greg said HI! Oh, and they should also have cam hooks now, per T Moses. Woot!

Yeah, I was asking a question. I'm thinking of heading up this Friday AM and looking for a pair of something in the mythos genre in a shoe that would fit a street shoe 8.5.

What I'm really looking for is something similar to the old hign top fire's (you know the ones, they replaced EB's). I'm not really looking for a severe drop toe. Just a kind of a shoe I could use to plod up 5.8-5.10 slab / crack routes that won't hurt too much. Obviously I have been out of the game for a while.

Suggestions apprecieted.

hmm.... they MAY even have JB's! If they don't, find out what size you are and they can ship some from Escondido.

I'm from the EB, Fire era. My new favorite is 5.10 V-Mile, I think only Escondido has them. If you like old style stiff, edging shoe, they're a good choice. BUT, there's a long, long, break in period. I hated them at first, don't recommend them out of the box.
Mythos with 5.10 C-4 is my friction shoe.
