Here's some pics from recent outings for your armchair viewing pleasure...
January- practice run on SF Washington column
In the parking lot
1st aid pitch
Above Kor roof
The party next to us on Skull Queen- while rapping, this woman got her hair into her rappel device, and was immobilized for over 1/2 hr. Her partner ascended the rope and assisted, and eventually they were on their way. I was close, but had too little rope to reach her. One more thing to watch out for....
A recent building project- remodeling the kitchen of a 1920's cottage
March
El Cap base aid practice a la 'Road to the Nose'
'Lotta water that weekend
Heading to El Cap tree
chopsaw setup
April
Practice run on the Nose
Above Sickle ledge
crossing to stovelegs
rapping from stovelegs
May
Plans for E. buttress Middle Cathedral rained out, but a good (if damp) scouting weekend
Take a guess
view from Middle Cathedral
OK, dryer weather now.
Heroic start
We did the original route- 1st chimney pitch
Glad for the shade
2nd chimney pitch- interesting bulge to surmount
The demise of big (big!) oak that was leaning on & over my house. The climber had excellent moves. Subsequent to this picture, he was standing on the limb above and behind him, safety line attached 15' or more to the side, and reaching down to cut off the end of the branch one hand with the chainsaw. When the branch end came off, the limb he was standing on sprang back and swayed. He could stabilize some by holding the safety line, but the fall was not great.
I had a rope rigged for jumar practice - 45' free hanging. I was thinking about spending the night up there. Too late now.
OK, that's the show for now.

No bees. In my experience, they multiply and get fired up in the fall. Also, the nest sites move from year to year, and even during the year if they are disturbed.
One year they nested in the ground at the edge of the house which became a problem. I finally dealt with it by putting a 5' extension tube on a shop vac, and sucking them up as they came and went until they were basically gone. Non toxic.
Marty-
I hear you. Still getting the partner situation lined up. Technically pretty ready. Stamina- wise, maybe.
