John, the cliffs outside of Chama, right?
I know that some lines that have been done there.
I would try to contact some Albuquerque folks: Mic Schein (the Sandias guide dude), the folks at the Stone Age climbing gym.
That maybe productive.

I've heard that the approach and perhaps some of the cliffs are on private land -- dunno though.

There was a climber's guide some years ago that included Brazos, but I believe it is now out of print. I do have a friend that did a good multi-pitch there some years ago with Don Liska (who did some notable climbs back in early 70s in Canada and who may still be in the area).
Be careful around that area, though -- it is not very friendly to outsiders, especially Anglos.

Incredible wild area with relatively easy approaches and tortuous descents. Free climbing with a pin rack for the blocky quartzite (hmmm...) There are some unclimbed massive and sick aid climbs up river a ways (this area is referred to as the Box). The best way to get info is to talk to someone in the Los Alamos mountaineers. If you want to go check it out, rent a cabin at the fishing lodge, grab a pole and go up river. This area also has spectacular winter ice climbing. The area isn't hostile to anglos, it is holstile to thieve who steal from the vacation houses and cabins. I have been asked what I was doing there before when they see a massive pack as soon as they figured out you weren't asfter thier trophy trout everyone was cool.

You should try and get ahold of Dennis Jackson, the guy that wrote the falcon guide to Texas and New Mexico. I talked to him about the Brazos a few years ago but never got around to visiting. I remember the first time I was driving around Chama and noticed those walls, I was wondering where they came from.
