Tuolumne is definately on my top 3 list of 100%, kickass, God-blessed beauty, awesome places to climb. Every attempt on Marmot Dome's 'Holiday on Rock' kicks me off for weather though...one day I'll get past the second pitch.
2 of the 4 players...me and my buddy/mentor C-Dog (clark)
I lead the pitch and C-dog is bringin' Jeff up!
Uh...is that a storm rollin in?
Later!!!
Badass anchor!!!! (If I don't rap first!)
One last look from the route.
Walkin' off in in my lime green Black Sabbath shirt.
I love Tuolumne Meadows. Anybody actually finish this route. Is it worth it?

Think that was my first multipitch where I led every pitch - simply because my more experienced partner forgot his climbing shoes at the car, so he followed in tennis shoes. I almost cratered into the big ramp too - after a runout to a flake, I was about to step on the little ledge at the base of the flake, and at the last second I noticed the ledge was covered in ice so I stemmed to the wall - yikes! Ran up the top super fast since my fingers were going numb.
"Is it worth it?" - all climbs are worth it!!! But as far as quality - I didn't bother setting foot on Marmot dome for 10 years or so. Then we did Scratch, which is a sweet 5.7 finger crack interrupted by a couple sections of "10b slab" as one long-time Tuolumne climber phrased it...

Nice, Greg. I think I have to go back and finish the route. Ya know? One of those things.
That polished face to the left looks sweet too, Mop and Glow?
Anyway, it's cool because there's never anyone there. Maybe there's a reason for that?!

Once again, Bluering reminds us that a sporty coiffure and the right clothes allow one to, 'pull it off', even when the weather denies you the summit!
Totally kickAss!

Thanks, Jaybro, one thing my son will be indoctrinated with is the pure beauty of Tuolumne Meadows. It's unbelievable until you go there!!!!
Badass!!!!
(Hey if y'all got Marmot Dome pics, post up! maybe even Pennyroyal Arches Routes, or other obscuities!!)
I think this route is on the menu this year...and yes, the boy will watch us do it!

Oh yeah, that reminds me - there is an unknown old route that goes up the "polished ramp" between Mother Lode and Slabstick. Old thin SMC hangers with thread-topped 1/4" if I remember correctly.
Bolts are still bad on Mother Lode - pure gold polish!
And I think that the bolted anchor on Slabstick was one missing bolt and one broken hanger - nothing to clip into at all! Roger Brown replaced it several years ago.

I'll bump this in case the weekend climbers missed it. Any other pics of Marmot Dome routes?

I never climbed on marmot dome. But the key to getting the multipitch routes done, is start early, climb fast. As I recall, when we climbed fairview dome we topped out by noon.

I've done something on Marmot, but can't remember which, but it was a good time. Perfect lazy day with a bro.
Speaking of Fairview, that's on the list this year. I'd like to ask everyone to stay off it this year so I can enjoy it in peace.
thanks all. much love.

Cool. I climbed a nearby route (Slabstick) in July 2004 with my youngest son, after he requested a climbing trip for his 11th birthday:
We had better luck with the weather, but as I recall it still sprinkled a little on top.
