Went there last weekend;....for the first time. We did all ( I believe 10) of the entry level climbs at the school house, and then hopped on a few TR's that Lechlinski, Mari, Jack , and Boogs had on the steep stuff;...we had fun. I want to go again. Yeah, the place is sort of a landfill, literally, but the climbing was cool, and we didn't even get on the good routes, I know. I would like to see some more pics, and hear about which routes I need to do on my next trip........probably 5.10+ and under for me......Here's from our trip....

I guess it must be the beauty of springime that made it a little prettier in your pics. I've gone out there a handful of times during winter months when I only had one weekend day available and couldn't make a full weekend in JT.

Challenging sport routes. Decent quality rock. Not bad IMO. Certainly not a destination climbing spot but a good day trip if you're in SoCal and want to get your pump on.

But when I was there, there was a lot more garbage and litter around the bases and approach. It didn't look nearly as nice as it does in your photos (green grass and flowers!). But those graffiti taggings might be new. Yet not suprising.

Wow- that place looks almost pretty when the flowers grow over all the trash heaps.

I love Riverside Quarry. So comfy belaying off a burned couch. ;)

Nice pics Todd. I've got some crappy ones floating around but yours are (always) nicer. It's really fun to climb there.

Thanks Todd, looks like fun.

Think about checking it out every winter, never seems to happen.

I've had some good times there, just take it for what it is.

Last time I took some Austrians there and they loved it.

Hope the place stays open

Just this past Monday in conversation with a co-worker and customer, it was revealed to me that the Quarry has been purchased by Richland development company and that they have requested no further climbing take place. (http://www.supertopo.com/climbing/thread.html?topic_id=804861);

Did you have any problems or hear any talk while out there?

I've never climbed there, but would like to - though I am not willing to endanger access just so I can get my pump on...

Todd,
Some good ones to try are Trundle Trophy 10d, Flexercise 10b (not in the guidebook, but a few feet to the right of Trundle Trophy), and Tangerine Dream 11a (short crux). Also, check out Ground Zero and Power play 10d.
