Having one foot on an intercontinental flight and expecting to arrive in the Valley tommorrow evening, it comes as a nasty surprise to read that Yosemite has been closed due to flooding.
Any inside expert who has an idea of the time it will take natural drainage to clear the flood?

Did you actually read the other thread on this topic?
I believe that the WB offers an insight into that...

Sure.

I tried the math but it doesn't add up. :)
Dude, go to Bishop/Mammoth. It beats the Ditch anyway. Get a lot of good climbing in while waiting for th Valley to clear up.

Yosemite trivia… Werner, is this the first time that the park has been closed two days in a row (ha, ha, ha…) for two different reasons – overpopulation/ lack of parking Sunday; flooding Monday?

No, It was closed for 2 1/2 months or so during the big floods back in 97. But yea that was only one reason. The park can close again anytime now if the river goes back up over the roads. There's so much snow pack still above the Vallley as you know.

Yeah, I remember January '97... I was thinking more along the lines of the two different reasons to close the park in two days... Thanks Werner.
