We recently made a road trip and hiked Mt Rearguard in the Beartooth Mountains of Montana. A nice trip and the weather gods let us off easy. No boot tracks above treeline. Also, the last 10' is 5.6 - so the wife got a boost up to the top off my shoulders and I did a pull up on an ice ax. We had no climbing gear...Check it out.
Rearguard is the dome shaped one right of center.

Wow--what is that neat looking tower in
pic #8? Is that the tower you & Mr. Kingsbury met at?
What is it rated?

No, we met Pat at Devils Tower in Wyoming on Friday.
The tower on the right in photo 9 is supposedly the summit of Rearguard - there was a very short move to gain the top of the pile. With gear you could safely gain the top of either pile from any direction - it seemed.
The point in photo 8 is the Bears Tooth. Someone should go climb it and let us know how it goes...
The picture is taken from the east summit - where the summit register was located. From the highway you can't see the two piles behind behind the east summit.
