I'll part with it for $80 and I'll even pay to mail it to you. I bought it maybe 2 years ago thinking I would get into bigwall more. Well, I did, but I ended up freeing them or doing them in a push. The harness just isn't for me. I used it on El Cap for 1 1/2 days and bailed then threw it in protected storage. I forgot I had the thing until I started sorting stuff for long term storage while I go travel and climb for a year. If you're interested, let me know. Phone might be the best way to get ahold of me since As I prepare for the year off internet has been harder to come by.

It's a Yates Shield. Can't believe I forgot to include that. Sorry. I believe I have it sold at $80 to someone. If that falls through, should I contact you?

Nope, I'm too fat for a medium. Just drives me nuts when I see things like "Cams for sale $30 each" and no details.

Sounds like it's sold, but here's a question on Yates sizing. I have a Shield and love it, but it's always been a bit big (size L) despite their sizing chart saying it should fit. I have a 35 waist. What do those with the Medium think in terms of fit? I'm considering getting another one pretty soon so just wondering what others think.

I like the medium. Got my shield medium when I had a 29 inch waist. It still fit when I got up to 34 and then 36 (somehow when I got sick I gained weight, which is all wrong, go figure), and would go a little larger. I made my dad wear it to fix his roof once, LOL, and tied him off to the chimney, and he's a little bigger than 36.

The shield is a really fine harness, great for FAs and hanging belays, and falling of course, but I do wish it had adjustable rise.

The hard loops are great for stuff you need all the time on an FA, like cleaning tools. I don't think I ever put the hammer in the hammer loop, cause I always had various toys clipped and hanging from them on leashes, including hammers, saws, clippers, hand drill, and once a machete.

The big loop across the back is great for stowing gear when cleaning a face hugging route too.

I have a medium Yates Shield to sell too. Used on only three walls (WFLT, RNWF, Zodiac) and in great condition. I have never fallen while wearing it. I'm selling it because it's too big for me. I actually need the small size. Same terms as original poster. If interested, email me for details, pictures etc.

I'd concur with everyone here...

29-30" waist, depending on time of year, thickness of clothes, etc.. The Yates Shield in medium fits me fine with plenty of room to grow. I'd say that I could wear this harness *well* into the 30's. I'd think up to 35 or 36".

Bombproof harness, btw. Super comfy too!
