OK folks, buckle-up. This one came straight from the horses' mouth:
Local Patagonia Store Holds Extreme Sports Photo Contest
Entries Accepted Oct. 15-31; Grand Prize is Trip to Vietnam
Reno, NV (October 15th, 2007) — The local Patagonia store at 8550 White Fir Street is holding a photo contest called “Capture a Patagoniac” inviting local photographers to submit a photo of themselves or family members engaged in activities from rock climbing to fly fishing and beyond while wearing Patagonia clothing. Customers will then be asked to vote for the entry that best captures the Patagonia spirit of adventure, outdoor pursuits, and/or environmentalism.
The store will award $100, $75 and $50 Patagonia gift cards to the three finalists based on the number of votes. All finalists from the retailer’s 23 stores around the country will then be eligible for a random drawing for the grand prize, consisting of a trip for two to Vietnam courtesy of Backroads Travel Company.
Photos must be submitted between October 15-31. Customers will vote on entries displayed in the store from November 1-11. Store winners will be announced on November 15 based on the number of votes. The grand prize winner will be drawn and announced on November 27.
Patagonia created the contest as an outgrowth of its 35-year commitment to an active lifestyle, environmental protection and sustainable development. The company’s initiatives include a policy of using 100% organic cotton in all cotton clothing, use of fleece made from post-consumer recycled plastic soda bottles, and a garment recycling program that accepts worn-out fleece, organic cotton t-shirts and Capilene long underwear for recycling into new fibers.
In addition, Patagonia sponsors an Environmental Grants Program that has contributed 1% of sales or over $29 million to grassroots environmental activists since 1985 as well as an Environmental Internship Program that allows employees to work for environmental groups while receiving their full paycheck.
For more information on the “Capture a Patagoniac” contest, call the local Patagonia store at (775)746-6878 or see contest rules below.

The photo of Ken on his throne in front of El Cap is a sure winner. I think he was even wearing a Patagonia shirt, but if not, no doubt Ouch! could photoshop a hat onto him.

I would so try to do this, but the only Patagonia stuff I own is underwear. Although... maybe that captures the adventurous spirit?
