Well kiddos,
in the Manner of the Esteemed Tar-baby,
Tis the Season for a Rescuscitation
Of a Hoary yet ever-fresh Classic Thread.
For Oh-Seven, then,
Let us begin with a light Appetizer
A Tasty Morsel parked on the crest of the local stash
And perhaps First Plucked on this very Excursion:
Nevermind that our friend looks as if he could use a good meal hisself.

(And if the Rerun may be Excused)
The Tenacious KK Sets her Sights
On a flowery jam at Independence Pass
Seeking Instant Karma as it were.

And though this dates from last Fall
A brief but burly splitter
Tucked into the hills above BV
I believe this is from the final Yo-Yo
(We have yet to return for the Send)

That's a sweet little find in that last shot.

You wouldn't want to walk from there, but it's in the area.

Way to go Rhodo!
It's that time of year, time to get up high...
Lisa needed a steep road to run up:
The ridge above A Basin, from Loveland Pass:

While Lisa was running the road from the bottom, I drove on up to the pass
And hiked up 45 minutes from Loveland Pass to Peak 13,117 for a view:
Looking southeast to Grizzly, Grays & Torreys:

An Enduring Classic-
the mighty Saber
Adjacent to the Petit Grepon
Warms up with simul-slabbiness
in the early morning hours
Before moving onto the very exposed Southwest Arete
Five parties anthilling the Petit
None on this beauty--
What Gives?

It has a bit of a rep for being run out and route findy, and stiff.
...More climbs need that kinda help to keep 'em weather seekin' doddlers at bay.
You have a real nice shot of the two towers Rhodo; very descriptive.
Here's another, Petit Grepon, on the left, The Saber to the right:

And the rack, one set of hexes plus a few stoppers on slings. Some knotted runners, don't think we saw much use for draws yet.

Run out and route-findy and stiff is about the size of it, yeah. We got off route on each of the first 4 pitches, but pieced it together each time. Some cool and unlikely traverses in there.

Minor sequel to the "Day in Eldo" epic ... couple of days later I took a peaceful hike up Mt Spalding, with fine views of Mt Evans' north aprons.
