I don't know that The Taco has ever had a thread (or series of threads) quite like the one Tom posts daily. There have been some good ones. But his daily updates have many of us drooling while we wait for the daily report.
Thanks Tom!

Agreed.
And I, at least, am still waiting to see a picture of his camera setup.

hey tom
what you are doing is awesome for sooooo many reasons. #1 it keeps me connected to my man 1000 miles away.
rock on dude.
in the early 90's i used to travel with tony every where. we spent tons of time in the valley...back in the day...when chongo used to sell crazy pants, among other things, out of the trunk of someone's car. whew...those were the dayz. i would pack a pair of bino's, lunch, camera and the old yosemite guidebook, gather my son (who was about 7yrs at the time) and head to the meadow. we would spend all day on a sand bar in the merced. like you, i knew who was where from sunkist to iron hawk and all points in between. it was such a cool time in all our lives. your daily report puts me back on that sandbar, even if it is ever so briefly. a small photo of my son winging rocks across the meadow from a sling graces my desk...a point in time my friend.
thanks so much

CG - don't think so, exactly. I think you want wall pics. I am waiting to see a pic of the camera with the telescope mount, sand stabilization, etc.
He is getting really good pics by paying close attention to making his camera very stable, in addition to having some kind of fancy telescopic setup.
I think that, at the magnification he is running, a truck running by would give a fuzzy photo.

it's the ziplock full o' sand that gives his setup it's awesome style :)
