Father's day is coming up and I don't have my Dad to clelebrate with any more since he passed away. I think about him everyday. What a proud man my father was. I wish I could have told him. He survived the halocaust, had every member of his family killed, made it to the USA and began a new life. Never once did I hear him complain. He would fly the biggest American flag on holidays. We almost never saw eye to eye. I am proud to have given him three grand kids, whom he loved. He never talked about his past and maybe that was best, but we always wondered why we never had aunts or uncles or relatives on his side, but it was OK. He worked hard all his life. I really miss him. I look and act just like him too. So please give your Father a holler or better yet a firm hug for Father's day. If your listening DAD, I love you...

Haven't talked with my Dad since the Woodson shindig. We had a "heated debate" over evolution (me for, him against). Since my Mom died, hatred of liberals and all that smacks of liberalism is all that keeps him going. Sheesh!

Let's hear it for Dads.
eeyonkee - heated debate over evolution - really! Like it matters who is right or wrong, between the two of you!

Me'n' Dad on top of Long's Peak summer '69.
Now I'm the Dad;
My daughter Natalie and I on top (actually on the meadows during the descent)of Devil's tower last summer.
A close symmetery, in photo #1 I'm 13 and dad is 47, in photo #2 I'm 50, and Nat is 16.
Dad, Carlbro, passed beyond our realm on 8/26/79. Lucilleday (just imagine it was an important day in my life) was 8/26/88. It took years for me to make the connection; one way or another he was with me, even if it was just my lobes talkin' back and forth.
Tradis, brings up a good point that I agree with.
However,
My Dad, a man of science and devout Methodiat, would be horrified at the decadence in our present society, evidenced by a matter that had been settled in the fallout of the Scopes trial, (that happened when he was, I think, three years old) that is now backsliding into mainstream;
all children left behind?
Natalie is similarly nonplussed.
We are Devo, though antiprogressive compared to the flowerpot hats.
But anyway, cheers to everyone's dads.
