Hi I'm Nico, I'll be around Yosemite for a few days in Oct. Would definitely love to grab the chance to climb in Yosemite! Looking for a partner to climb, no idea of where exactly yet, I've heard of a few routes on the half dome? Can climb comfortably up to 5.9 and second a few grades higher. I don't have much experience with trad gear but still can use it. Also I won't carry a lot of gear, only my harness, climbing shoes, lanyard and a few carabiners...

Not the highest peformance teammate I am aware, but decently expericenced & safe, fun to be around and motivated to climb the place!

Thx guys

can not resist to promote yosemite climbing school with some tests passing which lead you to Half Dome :
Entrance Exam 5.9 - at Arch Rock
Midterm 10b at Arch Rock
Final Exam 10d at Half Dome

Good luck Nico but, trust me, you don’t want to take Alexey’s test.

I think he means he won’t be bringing much gear with him.

Haha! Ya that makes way more sense. For some reason I thought he meant he won’t help carry stuff.

Nico don't let these grumpy old men bother you. Go to the ditch and have a great time with whatever you encounter! You're in the shoulder season in terms of weather and partners but may well get lucky. Start in Camp 4 if nothing pans out online (Also consider mountainproject). Also keep in mind that if you aren't used to climbing cracks it's a different technique, so if you find a partner with gear consider dialing down the grade initially . Plus you may find the face climbs run out (meaning long distance between placements) depending on what you're used to. No matter what though have fun in a beautiful place.

Now why would you want to go there?

Nobody climbs there anymore.

I saw about 500 climbers standing in line to watch some guy free solo El Cap a couple of nights ago.

None of those people were climbing at that moment ........
