I just found out about an injury to Adrian Costa who was scrambling solo on Mount Conness earlier this summer. From what this news article describes he was badly injured and had to have his right leg amputated below the knee. For road cycling oficianado's, Adrian was a brilliant Junior rider here in Northern California. He won the Tour de Bretagne, came in second in the Tour of Utah and was a trainee on the Quick-Step squad. I only know if a little bit as he attended UC Santa Cruz for a year while I was the Competitive Sports Director. He became close friends with the senior leadership on the Slug Cycling Team who treated him like a little brother. My heart goes out to him and his family during this trying time.
