My experience from years of skiing Teton Pass BITD is,

dig a pit, and ski it regardless of the result.

Guess that's the difference between being twenty-something versus being being fifty-something.
Those big powder days in Wyoming were more addictive than opiates.

^^^^. HaHaHa! Most I ever did was whack the snow with my poles or slap it with a ski.
It worked - I was never surprised by any of the lanches I was in. 😽
