CERRO PAINE GRANDE - "Estilo Andino", ruta nueva / new route

Max Didier y Cristobal Señoret (CL) escalaron una vía nueva en la cara suroeste de la pirámide somital del Cerro Paine Grande. Esta nueva ruta escala a la izquierda de las existentes, para alcanzar el filo oeste que sigue hasta la cumbre. En los 300 metros de desnivel encontraron dificultades hasta 90˚ and WI4. Esta fue la quinta ascensión de esta hermosa montaña, que con sus ca. 2,884 metros es la más alta del macizo de las Torres del Paine.

Max Didier and Cristobal Señoret (CL) have climbed a new route on Cerro Paine Grande’s 300m-tall southwest face. Their line climbs to the far left of the existing lines, to reach the heavily rimmed west ridge, which it follows to the summit. They found difficulties to 90˚ and WI4. This is only the fifth ascent of this imposing, beautiful peak which, at ca. 2,884 meters, is the highest peak in the Torres del Paine massif.

yeahhh, kudos to tola and max for a new route in winter. these guys are just hanging out all winter in puerto natales, and sending on the weather windows. way to send, and NIIIIICE ummit pic. shipoopoi

it is an awesome selfie summit photo. the way the towers of paine sprout out of critoba'ls head is insane. in 2016, i spent 11 days with cristobal,, heather, pttp, on the REAL NOSE, making the third ascent. one of the funnest partners i have ever had. steve schneider
