"Connection Problems
Sorry, SMF was unable to connect to the database. This may be caused by the server being busy. Please try again later."

Assuming I'm the subject trying to connect to the database it says I'm a stoopid mother fu*^&r.

Hm, some of the site works, but other parts don't.

Works:
-Info (http://www.bigwalls.net/climb/index.html);
-Movies (http://www.bigwalls.net/climbMovies/);
-Design (http://www.johnmiddendorf.com/);

Doesn't work:
-Wiki (http://www.bigwalls.net/wallwiki);
-forum (http://www.bigwalls.net/forum2/);

he's probably running queries using the data base, so he had to put the forum's queries on hold.

Bad news. On Thursday I was trying to back up the database and the SQL server and all was lost. Both the Wiki and the forum.

Hopefully I will recover them: I just got a SQL dump for the Big Walls Forum from the server, so now I got to figure out what to do with it. I still need a backup for the WallWIki, which I requested but have not yet received.

I woulda told you yesterday, but I was up skiing WolF Creek with Nature. Awesome day. Today I'll be trying to fix the computer glitches. Thanks for checking.

Update: It looks like the Bigwalls Forum is back in action, though the photo-posting "Gallery" is still glitched.

Hopefully I can get the Wiki back, I just posted a bunch of otherwise unpublished info on Black Canyon, Trono, Wind Rivers and some other areas. If not, I'll recreate some other Web2.0 pages with the info sometime.

cheers, and thanks for the interest!

The Wallwiki is back up and running, ready for your posts of your latest adventures, tips and techniques, and any other info on big walls that you might want to contribute. The site is at http://www.bigwalls.net/wallwiki The server restored my files.

Note: there are still some glitches on the updates I posted on Jan. 10 (the day the server melted down), on Baboquivari, the Black Canyon, Long's Peak, and Sedona, but I will repost the photos and topos in a few days.

Everything back up and running on the bigwalls.net forum and the wallwiki. I sure would appreciate if any of you could contribute to the wallwiki with some information on big wall routes and areas.
