Hey folks, I want to do this as soon as this Thursday, or can do it during the weekend. Charlotte has been on my tick list forever, and combined with a ski-in, seems like a grand adventure.

Any takers?

I thought about this as an objective for this spring... mostly because after my 2nd trip to charlotte dome (first climbing it) & all that waking downhill to get to it ... I thought that it would make an ideal tour-to objective and substantially faster with skis. Plus since its relatively low elevation it should be plenty dry with minimal melt off the summit.

I can't go this week but I have a few other tour-to objectives in mind for spring and early summer and we should totally link up! if it's in a few weeks I can maybe swing it! shoot me your number/email! -Colin

The ski in is wonderful, the climb is almost as good as in the summer. The descent down the slabs might be THE crux. We had to rap the whole back side of the Dome as there were 3-4 feet of snow covering the slabs (in 1992). Took us most of the night. Hope you guys do it, it really is a great ski/climb combo.

My roommate just recently did this. Said postholing and glissading down slabs went pretty casually. Just don't climb the damn thing with both pairs of ski boots in the followers pack like he did.
