I have a free place to crash during the first week of Feb.
Before I rummage through all the usual sites, are there any *must do's* in the area?
Any opinions on what is/are the most comprehensive guidebooks?
I'm normally drawn to long multi pitch routes but would love to check out Hueco.
Thanks!!

reddirt,
hueco is excellent, but a 10hr drive from austin. there are multipitch excellent routes at hueco. 'sea of holes' is a classic.
IN austin you've got plenty of options but nothin real long:
sport:
reimer's ranch (just outside austin)
* prototype 10d
* wife in the fast lane 10d
* liposuction 12a
* rain dance 12a
green belt (right IN town - goto the NEW wall)
* meet the flintstone's 5.9
* thru the looking glass 11a
* tunnel vision 12a
trad:
enchanted rock (2hrs from austin - goto echo canyon)
* 4 or 5 EXcellent cracks up to 10c
* LOTs of bouldering
bouldering:
mckinney falls St Park (near berstrom airport)
* see bloodyflapper.com
roger's park (5 start bouldering)
* see bloodyflapper.com
Beer:
* Crown and Anchor Pub near UT

Looks like Bobmarley covered all I was going to say.
I almost spewed coffee on the computer when you mentioned multi-pitch routes IN Austin. Funny.
But his recommendations were funny.
Go to Hueco if you get a chance, but don't discount Austin proper.
Happy Holidays.
